Hey there, I got an HPI pro rechargeable glow plug igniter....how the heck this thing works??? I charged the igniter for over 12 hours using the wall charger that came with it, but the freaking needle in the charger still is in the red zone...didn't move at all...so what's wrong? is that needle supposed to move when it is charged or is it an indication of a charge of the plug? i mean when i put the igniter over the plug then will the needle move? is my charger broken? how far do I have to attach the charger to the rechargeable igniter ( I made sure that the nut from the charger was completely covered inside the igniter), so what is wrong here?

The meter tells you if the glow plug is good or bad, so long as the battery has a sufficient charge

Put a glow plug on the business end and the needle should move. Honestly though, those meters usually suck. They work periodically, but one of mine just sticks at 0 all the time, but the heater does work fine. If I tap the meter, the needle just bounces around.

dont use pliers to hold the threads of the glow plug, it will mess up the threads and then mess up the threads in the head.

I have a dynamite ignitor and the needle worked for only a little while. As long as it's charged, it'll work fine. I just give mine a few hours on the charger before I use it. Sometimes less.

dynamite also makes biger chargers that are good. the one i like is the prophet plus lcd. it has a lcd read out showing the charging amps, or the voltage. it says its for up to 7 cells. but i have charged 8 cell ( AAs ) with no trouble. i would NEVER have a charger that doesn't show the charging amps.
