One thing to note about all the newer Traxxas esc's don't turn off by the button anymore you have to unplug the battery to turn it off. It's probably a safety feature to protect your battery and cause an over discharge which could either cause a fire or render the battery unchargable.I told myself I'd do an hour at sunrise, I did that, but an hour at sundown and an hour just now.

He got a little warm in the heavy grass but he's cooling fine. This little fella can go anywhere.
I learned today, the ESC HSF will not turn off if it's obstructed. Once I cleared it, it turned off.
I googled what it was doing, a slow red blink; I just swapped batteries and it was fine. Are LiPo's safe to store fully charged? One thing to note about all the newer Traxxas esc's don't turn off by the button anymore you have to unplug the battery to turn it off. No, They have to be storage charged it's not a good idea to store them fully charged. I can tell you're new to the hobby.I googled what it was doing, a slow red blink; I just swapped batteries and it was fine. Are LiPo's safe to store fully charged?
Thank you. I did Tamiyas before, never anything this big. Storing them. Thank you.No, They have to be storage charged it's not a good idea to store them fully charged. I can tell you're new to the hobby.
No problem i've been in this hobby for almost 6.5 years i did them when i was 10 - 11 back in 2010 - 2011 and got back in 2021 and still rock'n in 2025 and most likely until i can't do it anymore.Thank you. I did Tamiyas before, never anything this big. Storing them. Thank you.

I'm 25 and i've had cars that most people my age and older wouldn't be able to afford or really need.I'm 41..
If you are done running cars for the day, storage charge your batteries. Any fully charged ones can remain charged if you plan to run again the next day. But a day is as long as I will leave one full.I googled what it was doing, a slow red blink; I just swapped batteries and it was fine. Are LiPo's safe to store fully charged?
These are very useful, thank you, going to absorb them all. - EDIT - Watched them all. I don't have a voltage monitor, but I will take what this guy says seriously. I had an oven mitt just in case, but now I'll get a leather glove. I know Traxxas isn't selling me a bomb, but what he said seems like good advice : Just watch it. I will never charge a battery on my carpet without watching it, probably get a piece of steel siding to sit under my little station. I really appreciate you putting together those links for me.If you are done running cars for the day, storage charge your batteries. It is not good to leave any LiPo fully charged (including your cell phone battery). It will slowly degrade your LiPo's if you leave them like that. There are lots of videos out there on YT that teach LiPo care and safery. You should take a little time and go study up. It will really prolong the life of your LiPo batteries by taking proper care of them
This guy has a ton of knowledge about LiPo care, charger specs, etc. You're going to learn something today
All my Slash’s and most of my RC’’s that I run / use ,
I use flex seal to undercoat the bodies.
Top 3 benefit's.
1.Protects the paint.
2.Makes the bodies more flexible less likely to rip and crack.
3.Helps get rid of the plastic slapping sounds.

I might do something like this to my future rc bodies since this looks and maybe works better than shoegoo\e6000 and drywall tape. All my Slash’s and most of my RC’’s that I run / use ,

I have done both at times for track cars that I know will be taking a lot of abuse and have weak areas I know are prone to cracking and tearing.I might do something like this to my future rc bodies since this looks and maybe works better than shoegoo\e6000 and drywall tape.
That's cool, i was looking at doing this to my future bodies i either get with new cars or new bodies i paint up for my current cars. My XO-1 body is cracked in a couple places and i plan to paint up a new one and try reinforce it same with any new bodies i get in the future or at least that's the plan.I have done both at times for track cars that I know will be taking a lot of abuse and have weak areas I know are prone to cracking and tearing.
The pic of the older slash body above was a track body I had taped up with rubber flex seal tape in the areas I know are prone to paint damage from tire burns then flex seal sprayed over the entire underside of the body.
You can still sort of see the tape showing under the flex seal coating, in this pic.
On the tail section that is very prone to tearing I used a flex seal caulking material in those areas.
This body I setup 6-7 years ago for track use, and a few weeks ago added the clip less body kit seen on it now.

The shoegoo and drywall tape approach, I have typically use to attempt to repair and reinforce already weakened and damaged bodies.
The flex seal and tape etc measures that I use, seems to have dramatically reduced the need to break out the drywall tape and shoegoo for repairs.
It’s been a long time since I needed to use shoegoo to repair anything. Partially because of the flex seal and partially because don’t tend to run my stuff as hard anymore. Meaning I have also figured out that if I run my 3S rated RCs with 2S and my 6S RCs with 4S, I still seem to be having just as much fun and I know I break a lot less stuff. Lol
