I guess I'm the only one who really likes the oval. Hm. Even at 90% grip in practice I've been running consistent 6.8's. With the lower grip, though, line is everything. If I come into 3 too low, the car is lost and I end up way wide on exit. But for some reason, rolling through 1 and 2 doesn't seem much different even with the lower grip.

But as usual, once I start a competitive run, I'll end up hacking all the AI and it'll look like crap on paper. Never fails.

I like the Speedway. I wish there were a few different oval layouts though. I just can't figure out how to find more speed in my setups.

Piss on oval!

Piss on pit stops too!

Piss on pit stops too!

Now THIS I agree 100% !!!!

I was just trying to see if I could find a little more speed, actually hit a 6.9, but only once, then my radio went dead, so now I gotta charge up the batts, didn't even realize they were going dead.

Are you practicing with the hacks?

Oh crap.. I was gonna work on my qualifying setup tonight but after reading your post I realized why I stopped the other day... battery. darn.

I actually find it better to practice with them. They sometimes can help me find the best brake zones for the corners.

Sweet. Speedway once again. At least it's only 5 minutes.

Piss on oval!

Piss on pit stops too!

Man, you change your mind almsot as fast as my wife! :D

The only good thing about this weeks oval race is that it's only 5 minutes.

Well aww crap man. I totally blew my qualify. I thought I had a sub 7-second lap in the bag but then I totally blew the entry to one and couldn't get back in the gas coming out of 2.

Just a heads up fellas... you get 3 practice laps at RC Speedway.

Reeled off a 6.9 for my first lap in the qualify.

In the weekly race, my first run was going fine. Had a clean 12 second pit with 21 laps at the half way point. Left the pit and went for about 2 minutes just fine and then a not popped up saying there was no longer a signal from my transmitter. WTF!!!!!!

This has never happened before. I pressed 'try again' and it worked fine without doing a thing with the transmitter or VRC USB adapter. Race was toast so I DNF'd it.

Second attempt I raised my antenna and let the antenna on the receiver dangle. Normally it is wire tied up and I don't raise the antenna on the transmitter.

Run was not good at all. I struggled all the while thinking about what happened the first run. Of course I booted the pit as well.

I need to settle down if I am going to do a final run. 40 laps isn't bad, but right now it's second place and I know I am good for at least 41 or 42.

My qualifying sucked to say the least. i told you Josh, my 1st lap is rarely a good lap.

I put my runs in for the race. I should've quit after the 2nd run but I really didn't have anything to lose so I made the third and dropped a couple of laps. Maybe you can get me Joe!

I practiced A LOT this weekend trying to figure out how to find more speed. I've become soo used to simply cranking the wheel to full lock to take the turns at the innermost line it was difficult for me to drive a car that is set-up to be "driven". I used the same setup for my race as my qual but it wasn't nearly as fast on the lower grip level. I can hit 6.8s on slightly higher grip. For you guys still trying to figure out how to be faster at the oval I can tell you the less you turn the wheel the faster you go. That mostly goes for turns 3 and 4 and you're pretty much guaranteed to use all of your steering in 1 and 2. I've been fiddling with my setup to get my car to turn "too well" in the center then exit of turn 4. When I have to back off my steering input coming out of 4 I tend to shave 2-tenths vs. when I'm full lock.

Well I totally f-ed up my qualify run, I spun out coming out of two and that was all she wrote.

I did ok in my race, I ran two rounds, probably won't run another, I may be able to squeek out another lap or two but I could do much worse. The ONLY thing in my favor is I am in last anyway, so I can't finish any further back than I already am even if I do run fewer laps.

You are actually in 4th Joe.

The last run counts. Not the best run (unless it's the last one).

Randy got 37 laps on his last run so that is the one that will count despite what the VRC standing show.

I got bit in the ass on this in the 2nd race of the season. I went from 3rd to 5th with a DNF
