I have a spektrum dx2 radio installed on my rc truck. I am suddenly having a problem. After powering up the transmitter and receiver, the throttle/steering servos just keep stuttering all over the place, and I have zero control over those servos with my transmitter. Even if i power down the transmitter, the servos keep stuttering. Is this a problem with my transmitter and/or receiver and/or servos? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Could be a low receiver battery or one of your servos is screwed up. Try disconnecting one servo at a time to see if that resolves the issue on the remaining servos that are plugged in.

You could also try to rebind it.

so is there a chance that my transmitter and receiver are still good?...the batteries are brand new...i think my steering servo might be bad because I have no control over the steering, no matter which servos are connected...any good steering servo recommendations?...I have a xtm mammoth st

Like olds said . Try rebinding it . There's loads of Servo's to choose from . Depending on how much you wanna spend . Hi torque . Digital . Analogue . Hi speed ect ect .

I tried rebinding it...still no luck...what are some good steering servos that are in the moderate price range

I'm thinking could be reciever has it been crashed,or have you gotten it wet.

Since both servos are doing it then we'll probably find a problem with the receiver or receiver pack. What type of battery are you using and how are you charging it?

i havent gotten it wet although i have had a few minor crashes

I am currently running 4 double A's until my new 5 volt rechargeable arrives in the mail. I ordered an Associated 1600 Series 6.0V Hump Receiver Pack. I will be charging it normally (standard charger).

I'm thinking like w bill... It may be a defective rec. I've plugged my servos in improperly, had the plug turned around, and it caused a similar reaction. But, I hope you get it squared away man.

I've trashed 3 steering Servo's in the past 2 months from bashing them hard . I run a spektrum digital steering Servo now and is holdin up good .

Dont go cheap thats just my 02

Hey Jack. Yeah... U buy cheap you get cheap. I'm using the Spektrum servos in my 810, metal gear. Had them in there for a couple of months and no probs.

I just ordered a new receiver so I hope that solves my problem...@ smokin joe - what spektrum servos are you using?

Dpilat... Using SPMSS6020 for steering and SPMSS6040 for throttle. They are metal and titanium geared and really tough. For my serious races and events I use Hitec servos... High voltage. Very expensive, but awesome servos. But, my neighbor and I have a large track in the back and I run the Spektrum servos for practice and bashing 3-5 days a week and for a long while. Hope this helps man.

The reason I went through 3 cheap Servo's was because my hitec steering Servo just decided to die out on me . Didn't get it wet or took a hard knock or the wires didn't get sliced . Couldn't figure it out .

I bought four Hitec servos so I would have two spare ones. I've had two, both steering, just die out on me too. The price tag on the Hitec servos will make me shop around if these others fail. I've been seeing a lot of the Sovox servos. They seem to do really well and much less expensive. My little 50.00 Spektrum servos are outlasting the 150.00 Hitec servos.

Yer same here . I run the spektrum Ds821 and is a wicked little Servo . I have a good relationship with my lhs and gunna ask them if i can try one of them sovox Servo's and if there any good will kit the fleet out with em

And yer wen you spend 150 on a Servo you expect a lot more life expectancy from them . Not going hitec anymore .

If savox made a water resistant one, I'd give them a try.

Have never had issues or short life with the hitec 985MG's. Been running 3 of them for quite a few years in MT's/1/8 buggies for steering and t/b usage.
