I recently bought a used ez-peak plus 6-amp charger. Every time I try to charge a battery with it, it pops up a (over voltage) warning. I am using a Traxxas #2918 dual charging adapter to charge two brand new 3s, 11.1v, 4500mah batteries; so I have the charger set to "LiPo Balance, 4.5A, 11.1v (3s). Am I doing anything wrong or do you think the charger, adapter, or batteries are bad?

A picture of your charger and batteries would help... This is a Traxxas EZ-Peak charger, but are the new batteries Traxxas brand?

As you can see they’re not Traxxas batteries. They’re some cheaper ones I found on EBay (probably too cheap 🤨). Since I started this thread I’ve tried it out some more. So far the only way I can get it to work is to charge one at a time, and not use the balance cord. But I really want to be able to charge both at a time, and I know it’s best to balance charge if possible.

You should charge with the balance plugs in the charger so you don't overcharge the battery or 1 cell, and so the cells are balanced. I'm surprised that the charger let you charge without balance but it is a older one so kinda balances out ;) lol.

Also I wouldn't use the dual charging board b/c charging 2 packs on a single charger is quite risky. as the charger doesn't know what the voltage is of both packs and only recognizes it as only 1 pack. Id look into dual chargers like the Imars (G_e_n_s A_c_e) D300 or Hota D6 Pro. If you want to charge both batteries at the same time.

Youme Power lipos, had one myself and it was decent. decent for budget lipos. Test drove a buddies ebuggy with them and it had some punch to them. Not the best of the best in cell quality and IRs but decent imo. Atleast they're slightly better than Zeees. From my experiences.

Theoretically if the charger/pack gets up to 12.6v and the charge rate starts to go down and completes the cycle, should be fine but the balance is mostly there for a safety thing and to make sure the cells are actually balanced. And to read individual cell information.

Thanks for your help. After you said something about it recognizing both packs as one, I tried setting it on 22.2v (6s) and that took care of it.
