After our Saturday night race my kids came up to tell me there was 2 kittens hanging out by the track. Immediately the other parents go to yelling at their kids to leave the diseased cats alone. Myself i am a cat lover but already own two. After a short debate with myself I walked over and picked both of them up. Nothing wrong but dirty and hungry, maybe 4 weeks old at that. Some butthole obviously dumped them because they are way too friendly to be wild. A lot of us bring our children and they play between races and such. We have a picnic ground and playground next door. With tons of people of people coming there often I guess they thought it was a good place to dump them. I just cannot believe it was too much trouble for some lazy S.O.B to drive them to the nearest shelter. That's fine though I guess, they have a good home now. I got phone call today from a friend at the track, there is one more and he wants to know if I want to come get it. So one more flea bath and another mouth to feed, big deal. They are beautiful little guys I could not abandon. They may end up at a shelter, but I will do my damnedest to find them homes.
Pics of the "diseased" animals....I could not have been more ashamed that no else was willing to help them.
They are all doing great. To whomever dumped them, you'll have to answer for it one day. Not blowing my own "horn" here, just ashamed of the world today.
