Ok, right now i have the duratrax intelliepeak charger and so far i like it. But it doesn't do Lipo. I may be getting some lipo's in the very near future so i will need to upgrade my charger to one that does them. Here is what i want out of the charger. I will be charging rx packs, 6v sticks, and the lipo's, would like the option to do one cell for ignitors if i get back into nitro.

do all battery types (nicd, nimh, and lipo)

automatic peak detection

perfer ability to charge two different packs at the same time

would like AC and DC but not required

would like a discharge, and cycle option

i guess it would need a balancer for the lipo's

so, my question is, which is the best bang for the buck? prefer in the $100 range, thanks!

I've got the Hyperion EOS 0606i and have been very happy with it. It has all the features you mentioned with the exception of 2 packs at a time. Most of the 2-packs+ chargers I've seen with the other features you mention run about double your budget. You can pick up the Hyperion new off amain for ~$130.

I like it because it's stupid simple and very LiPo n00b-friendly, which was one of my main requirements when I got into LiPo just recently.

i use a Venom Pro, i love it and wouldnt trade it for any other charger....

I love my Duratraxx Ice charger, but it does require a power supply and only charges one pack at a time, but it does every thing else you want out of a charger...

ok, both my lipos are dead and i need a charger.

I've narrowed it down to these two.

they are both the same price, but one does two packs at once.

what else will i need? do i need a separate balancer? how do i know which to get? which one will be better for me? i would like the dual but its not mandatory, i can just keep the duratrax if i have to.

looks like the venom comes with plugs, temp probe, and a balancer..

the packs i have are 1450mah 7.4v with a small 3 pin plug and i put deans on them. i may get others in the future so expandability is a good thing.

please help lipo gurus!

id go with the venom since i have a venom. it comes with an ass load of different plugs, adaptors, clips, for all kinds of stuff lol. and yeah it will charge or balance charge, wich ever you want it to do it will do. if charging two nimh batteries at a time is something your really want then you might want to try the other one, I'm not familiar with it. all i can say is having experience with the venom, is that the Venom is great! i wouldnt get a different charger. and plus, you have to buy the extra stuff needed for the hobbico, thats lame.

I was going to recommend this one. It has everything you want except for dual charging.

Edit: Oops, Amoeba already recommended it.

I'd go with the Venom. It can handle 6S, but not sure if you'll be using that much. It also has the temperature probe. The other one is optional. The Venom one comes with a load of adapters also.

ok so i ordered the venom, found it on fleabay for 129 with 10$ shipping. i also ordered another transceiver for the nomadio. found them on a-main for 84$ so that should take care of the glitching and be able to charge the batteries!! have to wait a few weeks before i can get the bta, 4 link plate, and eem DT plate.

Well, I see you already ordered one.
I was about to suggest the Magnum. That's the slickest Charger in the Dodge line up.

if i could get one of those for $129, id be set!!

so when you gonna break out that savage?

Waiting on the last of the alloy parts, then I'll run out of excuses. :D

as long as it doesn't become another criss craft build. what are you waiting on? i thought it was all alloy now.

god i hope you have a failsafe on that thing...

Rolex buddy, excuses are like A-holes....we will never run out of them on this site! Love you guys....lol. Never run it! IT WILL GET DIRTY!

And Beason heck it took you that long to run down those two packs? That will be a great charger for you for sure. I have an Ice and 989 Super Brain....between the two I can charge anything from a ni-cad to a car battery.

ok so i got the venom..

you guys were right, i love it!! i didnt even have to read much of the manual to figure out how to charge my lipo. set the charge rate to .001 of the amp rating, set the voltage of the bat (7.4 2s) and away it went!! charged up both lipos and one nimh just for SnG

i love how it comes with almost every plug you could need!! and it has a fan to. this thing will charge anything!!

thanks for the info guys, you once again steered me in the right direction!

now i gotta figure out if i should keep the duratrax intellipeak
