Oh man... I am really thinking about getting a UDR

Thank you. That was a very informational video. I'm a sucker for IFS front and solid axle rear. I think I will jist stick to my Kraken Vekta for now. If the UDR had more metal, I think it would be better. I dont really like that battery tray design either.

I'm in RC limbo... I am itching for another one but dont know what I want. That Rampage is cool, but I am a 4wd guy. I only own 2 2wd, Traxxas Slash and HPI Baja 5b.

I love a good 2wd....I own a couple 4wd. A tt02 with a locked rear diff so it drives more like a 2wd, and the others are crawlers where the 4wd makes sense.

I have a UDR amongst other things 🤣 it’s a very good truck, very scale, but not the toughest out there, so far mine is still all stock, I’ve bent the rear arms a few times but no big deal as they are cheap to replace, also the sway bars are pretty weak, I’ve broken them too. Battery tray is a pain but works very well if you can find a battery that fits 🤣
I beat mine quite hard but not really any big jumps, it’s plenty fast enough on 6s.
If you can get it for a good price I believe you’ll enjoy it, you just have to know its limitations !!

I had one for a little while. Fun to drive but the cage and body make it an absolute pain to work on. I much preferred my Mojave even though it's not scale.
Same reason I prefer my Corally Shiroi

My middle son has the UDR, repairs can get... involved!

How do you like that Team Corally Shiroi? I've never sean Team Corally in person, but the videos make that truck look premium. I'd be willing to give the brand a try.

I've been really pleased with the Shiroi. It's my third Corally 6S model and none have broken anything so far. I'm not a skate-park basher and I don't do 20 foot air, but for my uses I'd take the Corallys I own (Asuga XLR, Kagama XP and Shiroi) over most other brands.

Several sites carry parts so that shouldn't be an issue. I've picked up some suspension spares at Jenny's, but so far haven't needed them.

If you enjoy looking at a nice scale Desert Truck on a shelf and maybe once a year spin some flat dirt up, they're expensive.

I'd even go as far as recommending a Maxx Slash if you actually want to jump and have a fully capable/maintenance friendly basher.

That being said...

I actually had a Mojave 6s EXB a few years back. I put a max6/1650kv combo in it. I hated the in-air unpredictability of it. I even put Scorched RC inner fenders and other upgrades. I would send it off a jump, it would be sailing, and the it would get some air under it and go straight nose up.

Never tried putting holes in the back of the body to let air out?

Fenders will definitely make the body assembly parachute worse and adding a heavier motor/battery will certainly change your corner balance and center of mass more towards the rear.

I run a chassis net to keep the debris out and with the natural Lipo tray position it should be a nose heavy course rig out of the box. Nobody really preferred how they tuned the v1 EXB diffs so lots of variables with that configuration. I picked up a Proline ford body on sale recently to lighten body and keep center of gravity low on the track.

Unfortunately it sounds like you have the classic problem so many do. The udr is meant to be a trophy truck. It has to be light enough the suspension will be very active.....heavy duty enough to bash will mean heavier springs and oil slowing everything down
