I need to know how do I put a pull start back together? Mine fell apart.

Um..........This is kinda hard to tell some one with out knowing what it came off of....

windup the string, then wind the spring into the casing then put it all back to gether. Like what Mach said we can't help if we dont' know what it came off of.

If it's not broke, there are only about 7 parts in any nitro pull starter. Handle, string, wheel, spring, housing, 3or4 screws and a one-way.

If it's broke, what's broke? Or did the screws rattle out and the pullstarter fell off?

If you do a search you'll find a video made by shorty that demonstrates how to disassemble & reassemble a pull start

if u explan ur problem i can make a new vid showing how to fix it

ok, the pull start on my 1/8th scale cart came apart. Nithing is broken. Just everything fell out of the box it was all in. I need to know how do I get the spring wound back in and what do I do first? Which way do I put the string around the wheel. I'd love a movie if you could make one shorty.

ok, are there any tricks to winding the spring back up? Because I keep trying and trying for about an hour and never can get it in there correctly. Can I use any tools or something to make it easier to get it wound back up?

Are there any tricks to winding the coil back together and putting it in? Because I put it in and it pops out a little. I can still put the wheel in but the coil is up a little, just a small part though. Should I try it or does it need to be all the way down in the box?

What I normally do, is completely wind the spring so it's small enough to fit. Then I take needle nose and pinch it somewhere so it doesn't unwind. Keep in mind, winding the sucker makes your finger tired...

With it in the needle nose, I place the outer hook in the crevase it needs to be in as I hold the spring inside the cup where it needs to be. Slowly release pressure on the pliers and the spring should pretty much end up where it needs to. You may want to keep a thumb on the coil as it releases tension and unwinds a little in the cup. It's easier to wind it tighter than it needs to be, then let it unwind in the cup.

Once it's unwound in the cup and you don't need to hold onto it anymore, just wind up most of the string on the spool in the right direction and try to place the spool in the cup while eyeballing where the notch on the spool fits to the spring.

Then watch the movie a couple times toward the end to see how to take out the slack. Actually, don't watch the end of the movie to take out the slack, that was just a PITA!!! There's an easier way, if you can't figure it out, follow the vid. To hard to explain.

Damn... it is hard to explain. I've done it like 20 times, but never wrote it down... Oh well, hope you get the jist of it.

It's not my vid... it's someone else's. I just dug around and found the link on this forum. It's server is pretty slow. Normally, I download stuff around 250K, but at this site, it was more like 10k.

its my vid and its on a free site so they limit the d/l/s but all my good movies R full speed
