I just mounted up my Hyper 8 port.
Using a Dynamite Flywheel and the Collette that came with it, the supplied spacer and nut from the CyberMaxx kit, and a Racers Edge clutch-bell.

Everything fit like a glove. In the photo you may see the bell is about a 32nd out of alignment but thats because I didn't tighten the nut that holds the flywheel all the way down.

Kudos to www.rc-solutions for including the spacer and nut in the kit.

Ok Eddy - you are getting too far ahead of me!!! lol

Looking good brotha! can't wait for the new cage!!!!!!!!

Eddy you should have got the 2.7HP Hyper .21 8-port Racing Engine. At $165 (pullstart version) it's not a lot of green in exchange for the same power as the picco .26 outlaw. (The same power on paper anyway. ;))

I also have to compliment RC-Solutions. It's one thing if a company has awsome service. When a company gets into an active conversation dedicated to their product, that's above and beyond. I too was over on their site, seeing what I could buy from them. good show!

The Cybermaxx projects look great. What original Traxxas T-MAXX parts are you using it any?

The only Traxxas parts I have left right now are the tranny case and the battery box. Everything else has been hopped up to a non-traxxas component!

But I'm even working on changing that!

Steering blocks, Trany and gears, (Till they brake) Battery box, RX tray (bottom only), Aluminum pillow balls, and Gas tank. I may have some others but can't remember now.

Once I have all the parts fit, I will take everything apart and catalog it.

Do you guys have a different screw set too? or are you saying strictly parts and not the little things?

In less than 12 hours from the time I talked to Scott in AZ I had the prototype .21 cage installed here in CA. These guys don't fiddlesticks around.

The cage fits like a glove. There is only an 8th inch between the cage and the top of the head.

My thoughts are that there should be just a tad bit more. My thoughts behind this is that we really don't know how much chassis or cage flex we will get during hard landings. With the way I drive I know I will land wrong side up moore than once.

Nice job as is but I would like to see another 8th inch clearance.

I agree Ed. Seeing another 8th inch clearance would be nice. Either way that thing looks sexy. I can't wait to see some pics of that thing in action. :)

I will relish the day I can beat the crap out of it.
Driving my stock 2.5 is like foreplay with Cinderella @ 11:59

When you get done beating the snot out of it you can send the pics / movie over to Scott so he can show future owners what this thing can take as far as abuse. :)

Ok here is the deal..... I'm awaiting the new cage so I can figure out how well it mounts up with the Picco. Thats soon. Aside from that, I orderred some parts yesterday and should have them by Wednesday. As follows:

Robinson Racing:

8550 T-Maxx vented aluminum flywheel natural silver
8586 T-Maxx / 2.5 Maxx Forward Only Hardened (Steel) gear kit
8529 T-Maxx / 2.5 Maxx Hardened (Steel) Forward Primary Gear
8525 T-Maxx / 2.5 Maxx Hardened Steel Topshaft 17/22t
8372 (72t STEEL Gear only) Hardened machined spur

Racers Edge:

RE 4996S T-MAXX ALUMINUM GEAR BOX SILVER
RE 4919S T-MAXX THROTTLE SERVO MOUNT SILVER
21 & 22t Clutch Bells

I'm dropping all the aluminum gears in the tranny and going hardenned steel. What the hell, might as well. I also decided to go with the RE Aluminum gear box. Should mount up realllll nice.

Just wanted to let everyone know where I'm at. Looks like its about a week away from completion! Hooooorraaaaaaaaah!

Eddy - quick update. I measured up the Hyper 8 and the Picco .26 Outlaw. It seems as if the extra 8th inch you need can be found with the Picco .26. From the top of the motor mount on the mill itself, to the top of the head, the OFNA measured up at 3 and 5/8th's. (please check yours to verify - just in case there is a different size out there). The Picco measured up at 3 1/2" from top of mount to top of the head.

This pic shows what I measured:

Let me know what yours mic's up as.

After mounting everything up I needed to use some different spacers to get the bell alignment just perfect.

Here is a bag of goodies that will get you there.
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXNT03&P=7

Scott sent your cage on Friday, you will get it at your home address on Monday. I'm not sure if he re-cut the cage with a bit more room or not.

Are you sure the THS is going to mount up OK? I spent some time @ the LHS and couldn't get it to fit. I may go with a standard 1/8th pipe and header. I tried the THS and the Banana for the Savage with no luck.

Sounds like your getting closer. I just need my Difs and a pipe.

If you were a GOOD friend you would have gotten me a trany case when you ordered yours.:jester: I see how you are now. Whats a few hundred $$ between friends.

Yeah he sent me an email letting me know it went out. I think its the same cut as yours.

I will mount up the mill and pipe today and show you what I was talking about. The bigger problem is going to be getting the engine on with the cage. I dont have the new one yet.

Its going to take some interesting bends in the mounting wire to get it where I want it, but, I'm certain it will go. Its going to sit high. Above the RX box is where the tip will end up. I'm going to have no choice but to use the tip extender on the exhaust outlet.

Also, check out the full force RX box. Its not enclosed, but we can bag the RX and failsafe. What I like about it most, is that you dont need the battery box any more. You can mount the batt. and switch right under the RX. Check it out and let me know your thoughts. My ONLY concern up front is the balance issue. I'd be moving the weight of the batteries from the left side of the truck to the right. Maybe no big deal, I dont know.

If you want a Tranny case, let me know. And reading some articles, you just might want to consider the Hardenned steel gears. I even read that the aluminum ones were getting fried by the .21's. Just a thought ;)

Did you measure that mill up to verify my measurements? I want to be certain. Let me know.

Soon my brother, soon! :radio:

I wont be able to get the measurements for you until Monday :(
I'm doing 2, 1 day trade shows this weekend and wont be going to the shop. :sorry:

With the THS, the angles in the header were wrong. I couldn't get it to sit properly the cage got on the way. I may use it and try to bend the header a bit.

The truck is looking great. Its great to see someone with the patience to take it slow and do great job. I know when I go to build my truck up for bash night at Scott's. I usually do it in one night and a twleve pack. I guess all I care is that it runs and I am ready to play. We really appreciate all the great feed back all of you are giving us on our products. Knowing that we just started offering these to the public about a month ago and that there are only some minor adjustments and accomidations we had to make is incredible. Keep the suggestions comming and keep an eye on the web site for new products.

Thanks;

Well if I ever make it out that way you better include me in on the beer!

I decided to mount up the battery box closer to the tranny. This will allow me to use the Dynamite box. There is enough room.

After tearing up the yard with the THS pipe on the Picco today, I am committed to having the pipe mounted just right. It will work, its just going to take some thought.

Off to the drill press..... Couple more holes to go and a couple more countersinks.

Welcome to the site!

I have everything fitted and ready for the final build.
All except my Kippster Dif parts.

I ordered them from my LHS to help support the cause. Its been 2 weeks now and I'm not sure when they will be in.

I contacted my LHS and he is checking to see whats up.
ERRRRRRRR!

***UPDATE***

Ok, All of my parts are in. So the alum tranny with all hardenned steel inside should be done tomorrow. The only thing I havent decided on yet is what internals to use on my diffs. I'm prob also going to go with Kippster cups and RRP Gears.

Here are some pics:

Eddy - I took a few for you to show you the Savage THS pipe and header mounted with no problem. Like I said though, no choice but to extend the stinger. No big deal.

The new cage FITS LIKE A GLOVE! I have just over 5mm clearance in the front of the head and over 4mm at the rear of the head. Yeah a little more may be good, but if the cage doesn't give then it will be fine :bling:
