Bout 4pm this afternoon we were sitting in our living room and heard some fire sirens. They were pretty close and then they went off. Looked outside the window and there were 4 cop cars, 2 ambulances, and a fire truck in the street. Cops ran up to the house across the street guns drawn yelling "Come out with your hands up!" 17 year old boy walked out the front door, layed down in the grass, and was handcuffed and put in a squad car. EMT's rush in and about 10 minutes later come out with his older brother face down on a stretcher. We heard the Flight-for-Life heli circle over a few times and it landed at the fire station a mile away. Ambulance drove off and crime scene tape was put around the house. From what we gathered and pieced together the younger son stabbed his brother in the back.
Its a single mother and she was at work. She depends on this older son and he stepped in to fill the man of the house shoes. The younger one was always a bit strange, wore a stocking cap everyday all times of the year and didn't really talk or interact with anyone else in the neighborhood. I didn't personally know the family but they have lived across the street (next to my Aunt and Uncle) for 3 or 4 years now.
Prayers go out to the mother and everything she needs to go through dealing with this. As I said the son was air lifted to a hospital closer to Chicago that has a Trauma 1 center and can properly deal with this. Hopefully he can recover.
Thanks everyone.
P.S. Heres the early reports.

From what I gathered from a friends dad at the fire station, they got in an argument over spending time on the computer. Such a stupid thing to stab your brother over. Mother came home later this evening and cars have been in and out all night, hopefully cleaning up wasn't too bad, I can't even imagine.
