You are the 3rd person to offer me a deal like this today!
Are you the prince of South Africa too by chance?
I already sent you all the id's plus my bank account info. :thumbs-up:
Are you still gonna get me a good deal on those ' questionable diamonds' and the 'mostly-legal' ivory we talked about?

I just tried to order a steering knuckle from partsgeek.com. I have dealt with them before and got the impresdion that they are a legit site. However...

I got an email requesting that I email a copy of my license and a copy of a bill to verify my address before they will ship.

Is this really a thing? Do people actually mail copies of their licenses for things like this?

I refused, cancelled sale. Sounds WAY too shady to me but I am really curious to know if this is common practice now or what.
They should be able to confirm your adress with the credit card company, they have no reason to ask this.

Sure thing, here you go. They just need the address, which they are getting anyway.

They actually listed what it must show and what I am 'allowed' to cover if I choose.

Maybe they really are just trying to cover their sales against scammers.
If its about trust, surely my request was no more unreasonable than theirs.

Not sure what that does? Any idiot with an iPhone can doctor an image to match whatever they want.

Vote with your $$ and you did.
