Posted the Kraton 8s for sale, what should I get next?

Excuse me ! I ment the gear shaft the nut kept coming loose and yes the zenoa is a great engine I have two of them no issues and yes dude has that piece of crap stock engine they use I told him not to buy it then he put in a rovan 71 in it my Taylor 35 kicks it right off the track it broke a engine mount on the case just from torque is what I was told he don’t jump it wich makes it even more pathetic crap hell I’m working on flipping my 8s VESLA with magma tires for air control notdoing that with rovan crap EVER ! I. M. O. Losi 5t is my vote and getting rid of the K8!!?? Wow ! IDE never sell mine to much dam fun

Yeah the rovan motors are dogs. My 38cc has been just fine but I think the 32cc zenoah out rev the 38. If it can’t jump it’s something in his set up, I had to make some changes on mine so it wouldn’t nose dive anymore.

I’ve got a Baja with there 46 still in it , I’ve done a lot of upgrades on it that where badly needed it’s a blast to run but I’m just waiting for that engine or carb to jump down the toilet like all the other ones I’ve seen like I said they are what there not just my 35 years of doing this addiction I may be old n decrepit but my eyes still work

The original HPI Baja 5t deal fell through.

Oh well.. I sold the Kraton tonight for $600 and went ahead and ordered a Rovan Baja 5b. Should be here in 2 months!
Been doing a LOT of research the last few weeks and for my use, I think the Rovan will suffice. Time will tell though. If it ends up being a big ol' pile of doodie, I'm not out that much money. Plus, it's a lot easier to swallow micro transactions over the course of a year to fix little problems I come across vs paying all of it up front. I think it'll be a fun little "project" to keep me busy as well.

I liked the Kraton 8s, just not the batteries. It's no fun when the most run time I can get out of it is 10 minutes if I drive it gently without spending hundreds of $$ on batteries. There just isn't batteries available around me with enough capacity or punch to support something that heavy and the few I can order cost over $150 just to ship one battery here.

Normally id caution other away from the "off brands." But, this won't be my only RC and it's certainly not my first... it's just for fun. I'm not competing with anyone or expecting to jump my house with it or for it to even be fast. I just want to rip around a field for longer than 10 minutes and actually enjoy something this large. I have 1/10 and 1/8 scales for launching into the sunset. Who knows, I may decide I don't want a 1/5 scale since I haven't really gotten enough quality time with one to decide its my thing and I won't be sitting on a $1500 car I can't sell because the hobby just ins't that popular around me. This will be a good way for me to dip my toes into large scale gassers and find out if I really want to invest more money into it.

I can't imagine the Rovan is all that bad, they've been around for too long to be complete garbage. I suspect you'll enjoy it, and honestly, for the money I don't see how you can go wrong. Everyone's usage/expectations are different. I watched Thunder RC (YT) flog a Rovan D5 buggy pretty hard, I was impressed with how much punishment it took.

Honestly, all the horror posts I’ve seen for them were 10 years ago. I really struggled to find any recent posts, videos or reviews where people were unhappy with them. We’ll see though… my expectations aren’t particularly high lol
