Again, this is an advanced technique used by pro racers for years and we tested to see if it actually did what they said. The article wasn't really going into discussing it for the novice tuners. Sorry.[/quote] Was that a shot ? did I just get called a novice tuner??? God I hate it when that happens LOL. Derek Just for S and G what type of dyno is being used for the testing on this?

Forgive my ignorance, but what does this mean? I'm sure it's not complimentary.

I'm not quite sure what it means either but I would imagine it is not. This isn't the first line he's said that caught me as being a bit below him (at least by my standards.

You guys crack me up with all the talk on here.

If anybody has been around long enough they would know that comments like that are very common to threads like this. Kinda reminds me of good old Wardo.

Sorry Derek, I think I've been reasonably fair here but you simply rub me the wrong way.

And I just learned that you guys have zero sense of humor and don't watch TV.

WOW.

Here's a statistic to think about which kinda works with engine tuning.

When polled the majority of drivers claim to be above average, when in reality the majority are average and half being below average. I'm probably about average, but I am willing to look and learn.

If you guys are insulted by me here please don't read our magazine.

The dyno is explained in the magazine, you can watch a sample run (actually I need to put more runs on video) on our website in the video section.

It's a inertia dyno- You spin a weight over time and the software corrects the data. The dyno is a simple machine (A spinning weight) the software is the amazing part. When you see that it corrects to SAE conditions, crankweight, rod length, bore/stroke, friction loss in the dyno bearings and a bunch of other crazy stuff you'll begin to understand that the dyno is extremely accurate and repeatable.

A load based dyno will smooth out some of the curve but our little engines are not made to be held at one RPM for more than a fraction of a second. If you do use a load based odds are you'll either ruin or wear out the engine in a matter of minutes. We can put over 50 runs on an engine with little damage.

Do me a favor and tell me where I rubbed YOU the wrong way. I went back and read this silly thread over and I've addressed most of the questions you asked and never once was insulting to you? So are you just wanting to be aggressive with me? It's much more difficult to carry on a discussion wiht 30 guys and half of them are simply entertaining themselves with "it won't work" blah blah blah.

The only question of yours I haven't addressed is the mention of a product that may be released based on the data collected from this test. I'm not sure what part of seeing or being told something that I can't talk about you don't agree with. If you had an idea that wasn't being used and told me should I post exactly what it is on a forum.

And for those who fail to understand what advanced means. It doesn't mean it's above your head it means that it's for people in racing or who like to try things that the average person....oops I forgot we're not all average.

Here's something "google" In Your Face Charlie Murphy and see if it was insulting or childish. Unless you are the brother of Eddie Murphy and I was slapping you in the face you can't be insulted. And it probably just proves that this thread is more of an angry mob looking to be poked. I'm good a poking.

I am good at poking at least my wife says so...

In all honesty, I think that some things are meant for more discussion and some for actual experimenting. I personally find it intriguing on this whole subject. I think that Derek has posted several times on what he and his team have done. Lets not try to bash him or XRC Mag. There are a lot of things that are written that may not be to what we have learned but I do know this, there are a lot of things still to be learned and discussed.

Derek,
This isn’t an angry mob thread.
What you are experiencing is “Y.N.T.K.O.T.H.H. Syndrome". (You’re not the king of the hill here) It’s common when the K.O.T.H. on one forum posts in another. The members here are different then the ones from your forum and your like a fish out of water. Posting styles are different, the users are different and you have absolutely no past reputation rest on. It’s like being the Star Football player at one high school and moving to another. You will be tested over and over to find the place that you fit in. You can acknowledge this and deal with it or not. It’s your choice.

If I was to go to your forum and post the same way I do here I would get hammered, ban, or both. I would be thinking that your forum had no humor. Why can I do it here? Because people over time have grown to know my humor and after all, Its good to be the king or in my case, the Queen :D!

Meanwhile back at the bat cave, I appreciate the info you bring with you to our forum and hope you will find the time to post more for those that wish to view it.

Actually I didn't come here as King of the Hill. The article and discussion was brought over here.

And I've posted this lots of times. We people on the internet don't believe some people and choose to believe the internet is baffling sometimes. I've been in this hobby for about 19 years and have tested touched, broken, used and licked just about everything in the RC world. My reputation and integrity is far more important to me than a post on the internet or printing something that was there to mislead people. I don't mind being tested on somethings, but when people are arguing things they don't understand that's not being tested (and before people get all their panties up their butts) at least people here weren't arguing that the pressure line is the way fuel pushed through the engine. RCCAs thread had people trying to argue with me and couldn't even grasp how an engine works nevermind what removing the line does.

Did I tell you guys that I got banned from RCCA - never been back since.

Now that I think about, I've never bought another one of their magazines either....

For the most part this is true however you are the KOTH on your forum and are used to being treated that way whether you know it or not. It’s frustrating at times to be in someone else’s house.

BTW.
Pressure line + (RCCA - fuel) * (7-4+3) / vacuum PSI = We tend to have a fairly knowledgeable group here.

Did you know I have a big C ock?

Actually, I am fully aware of how I'm treated on forums because most of the time I search it out. Lots of times it's addressing the issue of having female models in the magazine and how that makes us dirty filthy whores and it takes away from the content.

And I read this forum regularly and know there's a good group here...that's why I do check it. But like I said, there's people that understand more than others everywhere, some don't want to learn.

And I also know that bad press is sometimes better than good press. Which means if I'm arguing with people that creates more interest in the magazine. Tricky SOB aren't I.

Derek,

How are the female models working for you? Do they cost a lot to have in the mag?

I've thought about putting pictures of ponies throughout the site - think that will have the same effect?
