So you all wanna know what I did with my Wheely King?
Well here's what:
Hot Racing Hard Anodized metal transmission gears
HP HD Rings & Pinions
Plenty of Rocksmith Gear Jelly
Axial straight lower links
Axial alloy wheel hexes
Axial Beadlocks
Proline Flat Irons
Axial AX-10 shocks
Axial Soft (White) Springs
27T Handwound Motor
RCGuy.com Diff Lockers
The shell is a temp until I can grab a HPI Defender shell to get painted up and bob on the top. Need to grab me a Flux Motiv ESC at some point for it too I forgot just how much HPI's stock ESC SUCKED.
She's basically built for trail diving so I can go trailing with my two buddies with High Lifts. It's not that scale but it'll do until money comes around for a scale project next year. I got other things (like an E-Firestorm and a 24" LCD for my Puter) to sort first.
A lot of it is spares from my Axial and stuff I had from when I tried to make a crawler with it. Cost was pretty much zero as I had all the parts to hand already. I was quite proud because I actually got the prop pinion angle at both ends to stick out above the links to lessen the chances of it catching the terrain.
Haven't taken it out and played yet, I didn't get it done until it went dark tonight. I tested it on the floor in my room and it's quick and pretty climby, so it's probably gonna do me for trails stuff. I'll go drive it around the garden a bit on the morning maybe.
I'm just waiting for Charlie to kick my ass because I'm not running an EEM Servo plate...
