I only have 4s now. 2 are brand new, one maybe 2 years old. All ovonic 4s 6000mah 140c.

So I received the castle 1515 2200kv motor today.. it's a 5mm d shaft. Same as the stock arrma, but of my 6 pinion gears, only 1 fits, the 14t (stock is 16t)

Is this normal? Just bad standards?
Or is it a fault with the motor?

Could file a tiny bit out of the other pinions and surely get it on, but I imagine that could cause some issues and uneven wear..

5mm is pretty typical for 1/8th motors. I stopped running 1/8" shaft when I snapped one off a castle 3800kv motor in my stampede 4x4.

I opted for a 5mm shaft 3665/3100kv for a while until I swapped the electronics entirely for the blx185/blx4074 system, which also had a 5mm shaft. Pretty sure even my 4985 and 4990 hobbywing as well as my rocket 4092 motors all have 5mm shafts also. Only my spektrum 5687-1100kv in my xmaxx has a 8mm shaft.

Who makes the 5 pinions that won't fit? Is the bore a different shape, or is the hole just a touch too small? I highly doubt the problem lies with the Castle motor.

Yeah seems to be a common thing. The stock arrma pinions just don't fit aftermarket motors... I think the one that fit was not arrma, and the rest were.
All say 5mm, d-safe.. but no go.

Anyway, got th right ones coming now.

Thanks.
