How do I keep my pinion gears from sliding it's destroying my pinion gears and spur gears I've tried lock tight and it doesn't work

Make sure you clean the threads of the grub screw, and the screw hole in the pinion, reapply loctite (are you using blue?) let dry for 24hrs and try again. If it still goes off you can drill/punch a small hole in the motor shaft where that grub screw sits so the grub screw can go into that hole making it seat better on the shaft.

I had issues with my Xmaxx doing the same thing no matter what I tried and how much Loctite I used.
I finally cut a couple pieces of shrink tube and installed them behind and in front of the pinion before I tightened it down.
It lasts through the whole bashing session.

Can you post some pics? Maybe something is misaligned.

Are you meshing the gears properly? You don't want the gears jammed together tight, as that will cause excess heat, and loosen your loctite.

When you have it set properly, you should feel just the slightest bit of play between the gears. Rock the spur, and make sure it moves while the pinion doesn't. If you just barely see the spur move while the pinion stays stationary, that's about right. Also, make sure to test in different spots around the spur to check for any run-out. You want to make sure you don't have any tight spots.

Typically, folks will stick a sheet of notebook paper between the gears, mash the motor into the spur, pinching the paper tightly, then locking the pinion. But I find this can create a tad too big of a gap. But it's better than being too tight. I find just doing it by eye is best.

My scx10 i coated the shaft and gear/ gear hole in loctite. When came time to remove it, that was fun. 🤣

What is the RC platform in question?
I ask, 'cause of the possibly the motor mount/plate got tweaked during a harsh landing or something.
