And the contestents are A/E B44, Kyosho Lazer ZX-5 SP, and Losi XXX-4. What would you pick for some serious racing? These are all electric 4 wheel drive.

B44 for me. Its a great build, strong and very tuneable. Good parts support and MaxAmps make a 2 cell lipo saddle pack specially for it if you want to go that way.

I would say B44. I'm not a hardcore racer, but the B44 is what I'm going to buy when I get into 10th scale racing. I have the Associated RC10T4 with a sidewinder brushless system and I absolutely LOVE it.

Losi! Always Losi, For ever losi! :) nah really I can't judge, but i've seen the XXX4 and its SICK! Haven't seen the b44 in action. Only thing is, that XXX4 is an old build, when the hell are they gonna update it (Unless it was within the last.. yr? I've been gone for ~a year)!? Whens the last time the b44 was updated? Take that crap into account. Take into account who has the better hop ups, more adjustments. If your gonna get into serious racing, you don't want some retarded half-adjustments to hold you back...

I've always said that I'd buy a 4wd electric if AE came out with one, but the instant I saw that goofy front shock tower setup, I changed my mind. It looks like it'd sheer right off in a rollover.

That aside, I'm sure it's a good car, but I cannot see why they didn't up-scale the RC18 series.

The more a chassis is "updated", the more fixes to flaws the company has applied. The true test is how competitive a kit is out of the box against other companies' products.

So, should I go with 4 wheel drive, or is 2 wheel drive the way to go? I really like the way 4 wheel drive handles, but if everyone is doing 2 wheel drive.......

I would get the B44. Personally, I have the ZX-5 but not the SP version. I like it, but I've broken many things on it.
