I finally found one

After a looking high & low, near & far, less than an hrs drive, I finally found the perfect deal. Only thing it needs is a drag link for steering (current is bent) and a set screw for driveshaft cup for rear (no rwd). I already had a set screw that fits on hand so thats done already, 2 hrs into ownership to boot
I'll get a new drag link and it'll be good to go.
Only thing I'll have to do is change battery tray to straps to fit my 2 3s batts in there- hardcased smc 3s 6500 mah.
Talked the guy down a few hundred bucks and scored for $300. I think i did good. I'm very excited! always enjoyed the looks of "truggys". Excited for 1/8 scale too

Yeah, that was a pretty good deal! If it were me, I'd go through it to double check everything, replenish lost fluids, etc.

That's awesome! I personally find them to be one helluva rig. Some hate them, but if you Kevin Talbot anything it's not going to last.
You got a smokin' deal I've had this since they came out...light bar on the bottom is actually a Hoss light bar..so early in the release Traxxas didn't have a light kit available yet.

My oldest son has a Sledge and he has been happy with it.

I've got a Corally Kagama 6S (bought it from my neighbor) that hangs with the Sledge so far.

Well, I ran it up and down the street for a few passes, all was well & it rips. Came in to fully charge my batts. After charging, i plugged everything together, turned it on. Just about ready to put the body on then it shut off. No sounds or nothing. Tried turning it back and I've got nothing. I'll have to figure what the issue is.
Now I've got fully charged batts and nowhere to go.

The best battery box made for a Sledge is the one that comes with the truck. Grind a pair or 3 slots on the bottom of your battery box the width of your straps so your battery box will sit flush with the chassis. Now wrap the strap around the battery box where they go and bolt it all back together, you now have the best battery box made for a Sledge.

Any info? What lights/color are lit on esc? The 6s esc has a high temp thermal shutdown. What battery..using any adapters?

Not a thing on the ESC. It won't do anything. No lights, no sounds, not even sparks, nothing.
Using (2) 3s smc 6500mah hardcased lipos. Using et60 to trx adapters. I know my batts/connections are good. Verified on charger/another vehicle.
Went to LHS for the drag link and I asked the guy and he said it's most likely done for. I've never had a vxl 6s system before so I don't know much about them. Is this a common thing?

Hit and miss on the vxl 6s..At one time a few years ago they had a bad batch, Traxxas was replacing them. Odd that it went out just sitting still. Often times happens in the middle of a full throttle pull/run.

It's even more odd that I had it going no issues earlier in the morning for a few mins.

After swapping the traxxas 6s system out for my O.G. castle creations mamba monster esc & 2200kv motor, I discovered the same problem.
After some investigating, I think i have discovered one of my connectors on a battery has come loose. It'll need to be re- done. Once that's done maybe I'll swap the traxxas back in, but I doubt it. Castle FTW

Cool that you were able to diagnose the issue. Luckily I have 2 Sledge both running on the same ESC's they came with. Best few bucks you'll spend is these little motor mount isolators..I think GPM racing is where I got em.

I've seen them motor mount isolators. I'm curious to know if / how it effects the mesh if you change gearing from stock? Appreciate rhe feedback!

I personally have stock gearing but depending on what you want to change they have some options such as 13/34..11/34 etc..I think HotRacing has the most to choose from although they are still limited..you can see the different hole offsets in the pics below.
