the throttle/brake servo doesn't do much work at all. do't use such a powerful servo or you will suck down on juce. On my car i have a hitec-645MG with a OFNA servo Saver. Part #10760. For my throttle/brake servo I'm running a hitec-311 with the red cross servo horn it came with.

allways put a servo saver on your steering servo. Other wise if your wheel gets cought on somthing it could damage your servo.

Yeah, i have the UE gen 4 Servo saver on my maxx, so i think I'm good there. As for the throttle servo, i sold my stock steering servo, so i need to get a fairly good one. I have a heavy truck, and i need somethin that will stop it fairly easily. Also want one with a fairly high speed. Thanks for all the help guys, and if you have any questions about my truck, ask away.

Oh, and today my Turbo sliding 1/8th scale clutch came today! I have to wait till monday till my rc solutions spur gets here, but I'm sure it will be worth the wait. Anyone wanna buy an RRP double disc slipper with a 72t steel spur? I haven't used it more than 2 break in tanks with the new engine.. thats about it.

Yeah, i was going to ask what i needed for the r/c solutions spur gear. Will i need to raise the engine at all? I am going to be using the ofna 15t cb and the 52t spur. I'm just waiting on the spur (will be here monday). I will finish break in wednesday if its not raining! Will keep you guys updated.

Oh yeah, what kind of ca glue should i use for gluing my huge tires? I have the zap-a-gap thin ca glue. Will that work, or do i need a thicker solution? Thanks

Yeah, i have the 1/8th scale fioroni turbo sliding clutch and the ofna 15t clutch bell.

Yeah, thank you. I really hope this new clutch hooks up better. Well, it should since i was running the stock clutch shoes before, and those suck.

Damn it! I now have to get a custom machined engine mount because the screw comming out of the crank hits the tranny case and wont let the cb and spur line up!!! Its really annoying! I have the 1/8th scale clutch on and it fits perfectly, but the engine is too long! any help?

Well... I had the xtm conversion and with my engine slid all the way back as far as it would go, I had the same problem. The threaded portion on the tip of a pilot type shaft is threaded about 1/2 inch or so. On my OS 21 RG and my Omega 21 Comp, I cut about 4mm off the tip of the shaft which still left plenty of threads inside the shaft for the cb bolt to screw into. Although, I did cut the bolt with a dremel to have only about 5mm worth of threads.

I'm now running the same OS engine and have the Omega engine setup for my savage. Cutting off the 4mm didn't hurt a thing. Just make sure to cut off only as much as necessary. If you go to far and cut off all the threaded portion of the shaft, your screwed. I just stuck a small allen in the threaded part of the shaft to see how far in it was threaded to give myself a ballpark as to how much I could possibly cut off. But it sounds like you only need a few mm more to get it to fit.

Sometimes you just need to be creative... or destructive ;)

Well, the thing is, the cb bearings come right to the end of the shaft, i can really cut it down.

Is the flywheel against the engine? If there's room behind the flywheel, remove some shims, slide the flywheel closer to the engine, then cut the tip off the shaft.

On my maxx, I only had .02" worth of shims behind the flywheel, so it was almost touching the crank case... but it gave me enough room.

There arent any shims behind the flywheel collet. I may have a friend that will machine me a custom mount to move the engine back, but i was wondering if someone could help first. This really sucks. At least its not driving weather outside.

Its the New Era .21 conversion and i have the Sirio .27 Racer. It fit with the 23/72 1/10 scale gears, but i burned the clutch out trying to break it in (not the best gears to break in a new engine with). So, i bought the Fioroni turbo sliding clutch with the carbon shoes and an ofna 1/8th scale 15t cb and an r/c solutions 52t spur hoping that it would work better. Well, i guess not, but i'll get it worked out eventually.

Well, now the info is available for others not to run into the same problem.

I ran a HPI 3 shoe flywheel and an OFNA bell on an XTM 21 conversion with an OS 21 RG and an Omega 21 Comp. Both required me to cut a little off the end of the crankshaft.

Yeah, ill let you know if i get this straightend out. Hopefully within the month! lol

Yeah! I got someone to machine me a new engine mount! I think it needs to be moved back a good 4-5mm. I will let you guys know if i find out any thing else that is wrong with my project! (and i thought i was done!)

That is a sweet truck and I thought mine had alot of aluminum lol have fun with it but dont bash it to pieces :)

Well, i need to find something that works better for the brake linkage tubing (the fuel tubing stuff that traxxas put on the linkage to kinda cushion the braking). I ordered a new throttle servo, i believe it was the hitec 625. I'm sure it will be much more responsive than the stock throttle servo, cause that one is kinda weak. I need to buy some shock socks before it gets dusty out here again, cause i don't want to replace shock seals and shafts every couple of runs. Gonna buy a new body and have someone on here paint it (forgot his name). He said it would cost about $78 to do and i'm strongly considering it. Probably gonna try to get a lightning type paint job. I'm gonna go with the Ford F-350 crew cab for the Extended chassis. I don't really consider the Escalade to be an offroading machine and thats the only other choice, so I'm going with the ford.
