I'm painting a Jconcepts Mugen MBX8R nitro race buggy body for my friend. Hopefully it turns out good. Trimmed & sanded. Pinstripe tape layout put down on outside. Spray liquid mask applied. He wants green on rear, blue center, & white front. I barely know what I'm doing. I've done a several paint jobs, couple with liquid mask & sharpie on outside, but I hope this works good this way. I thought about doing black in-between where they meet, 1/8" wide.

Used a electric HVLP fence sprayer with a 1.3mm tip & the adjustment knob all the way up. Two coats, pretty thick.
Any tips from the pros, going forward??

I actually used my digital calipers to help get everything spaced, aligned & symmetrical.
I haven't painted a lexan body with symmetrical stripes like that since the 90's maybe. But I did one side, then used paper and traced the pattern and transferred to the opposite side. I do that on my hardbody paintjobs as well.

Good idea! That's actually how I vinyl wrap the bodies. Haven't thought of making L&R stencils like that. Then I'd have them for later.

Well....Here it is. Sorta. I forgot to pull the liquid mask off where the fade is. Looks cool like this but...it ain't right. Supposed to be white. Dang it! Pulled the window masks & outer layer & figured it out. I was excited to get this done & just overlooked it in my haste. About to pull the final liquid mask, paper tape the lid, & spray it.
Note: I don't drink or buzz so it's all just me being in a hurry to finalize my 1st 'custom' paint work.
