I need to add a pair of small (1" x 1/2") water slide decals to the door area of a Lexan body. I picked up some Tamiya "Mark Fit" decal treatment. I want to add some kind of protective clear coat to the decals. I'm wondering if I should mask and then scuff the area lightly so I can add a coat of clear Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails (if that proves to be safe for Lexan) after the decals dry for a day and have it adhere well.

Advice and tips gladly accepted.

You can just spray it with a clear acrylic (or brush it on). No need to scuff it.

.....unless, the body has already been painted.
...which it is. I'll post photos when the job is complete (should be before the weekend if things arrive on time).
