i burned up my engine on my savage 25 (the stock engine)....I have a os max 46 engine which i had in a plane at one time.....can this be put in the savage 25 ? it was originaly a plane motor but it is still 2stroke... ill probably have to get a motormount for it and a slide carb if they make these parts so a 46 size engine can be put on the savage.....any suggestions on how to go about what to do to the 46 engine as far as carb, changing from prop to clutchbell , cooling heads ?

I'm sure others with more knowledge on the subject will chime in soon but.

i know plane & car engines are made for completely different torque, rpm, power requirements ....a plane engine wont be able to move your savage very well at all

your much better with the .25 savage engine ....bigger isnt ALLWAYS better (at least thats what my wife says)

ok....i got a rebuild kit for the hpi 25 engine & rebuilt it.....havent got to break it in yet but will this weekend..................heres what caused my engine to burn up to begin with.....i broke it in properly when it was new......the ideal temp for these 25 engines is supposed to be around 240-250 degree ferrinhight......the thing allways ran at 270-280 degrees no matter how i adjusted the high & low end needles......it run at this temp no mater what the fuel tank level was too......there were no air leaks of any kind, no pinholes in the fuel line or anywhere & the air filter stays clean as well as my savage......i clean it from top to bottom at the end of each day i ran it......the high end setteng calls for 2 1/2-3rnds open from closed........what should i set the high & low at from closed when i get the rebuilt engine broken in ? If the thing runs hot again how do i get the temp down without stopping the engine & waiting for it to cool.......
