I'm torn between this buggy and the XB8. What are some of the pro's and con's of this buggy? I know many support the XB8 on this site, but what advantages does it have over the 777? Thanks.

personally if I was a very serious racer I would pick the 777, but the XB8 is more user friendly...

its easier to adjust and set up and you get tools with it... :smoke:

O.K., I have a 777 Special one, and I would strongly suggest against it! You spend in the neighborhood of about $700-$800 and you get poop!! It's just that I hate when you spend that much on a buggy and your front and rear torque braces are the cheap plastic thingy's!! I would say if you are going to spend that much money, go with either the mugen mbx5 prospec which is about the same price as a 777 Special one! Or you could go with the X-Ray XB8 which is an awesome choice too! I just got a really good deal on my 777 that I could'nt pass up!

If I where to do it, I'd get the 777 in the basic platform, and then buy king headz or fironi parts for it. For the reasons Woody just stated above.

I think I'll try the xb8 out just as soon as it's been out a bit longer.

Yeah, I can get the XB8 and 777 for the same cost ($600). The Prospect is a bit too much. How does the 777 handle, despite any durability issues?

the trip 7 has more sterring then any of the kyosho buggies ever produced. From the little bit I've driven them, it appears to have even more sterring then the mugen.

Other then that, it is a classic kyosho car, I just think it's going to be a bit before it'll be the same as say a k2 or k3, setup wise.

this is merely from a viewing perspective as i saw a new 777 this past weekend...
i have never driven a kyosho buggy or owned one...so i am not bias....

the buggy looked to handle very good...although it looked very soft suspension wise....but that could have been the owners setup too...

i have heard the only difference in the 777 and the k2 or k3 is the steering....

if i had a k3 with upgrades i would just stick with it....if i had a hyper 7(wait i did)...i would go xb8(wait...i DID!) or 777....either would be better choices....

JUST MY 2CENTS....but my 2 cents dont count....lol

allrighty..

Well, personally.. i run a mp777 have not seen the Xray in action yet. So i can't say if its better or not.

The MP777 has gone down in price big time.. mainly i think cuz it was released right before the worlds.. and didnt win it. however.. i think a 2nd is not that bad at all.
The car has tons of steering, the regular version, which is what i bought, and upgraded to Kingheads parts, i got around 650 in the car.. i got the hopups.. chassis braces and towers.. thats it.. i also got all universals, teflon shocks.. my car is basically the SP1 without the special motor mounts and hard chassis..

I have had no trouble with breakage.. or anything like that.. the car handles a lot.. alot.. alot.. can i repeat it.. alot better than my K2 ever did.. well.. my K2 handled great.. just couldnt get it to turn.. this one turns on a dime..

Price wise.. you can get the Regular verson MP777 for 319. thats cheap. Also.. the SP1 has gone down also.. i think its less than 599 shipped..

now.. i heard the XB8 is not needed to be upgraded.. i also read that some guys were having trouble getting parts for them.. dont knw how it handles.. will know soon.. cuz smoe guys round my area have picked them up..

i dont think the regular kit came with the good shocks.. in any kit.. with the teflon coating.. mp7.5 didnt either.. had to get the kanai version to get the teflon coated shocks.. but the MP777 kit.. regular comes with the ball bearing steering.. which is a first.. same steering as SP1, regular is just like the SP1, without some of the bling factor.. some uni's and the LSD diff..

they need to give it all to us and not hang us out like they do.

GP has to go really.

and life will be so much easier for kyosho

i heard.. they were talkin bout getting rid of GP.. and doing like Mugen.. with their own distribution..

Had I read this thread a couple months back I would have bought the trip 7 instead of my k3

i disagree - the included chassis braces are better for pure racing which is what the 777 is made for - they're more tunable and they give a little flex which makes the car take the bumps better. Even the XB8 has the same type of brace at the front.
