For Christmas, I thought it would be fun to mod the kiddos Scout II with some shiny new wheels and tires. Her favorite is blue, so I found these cool blue wheels and 1.3" injora tires to mount to them. My thought, what kid doesn't like big tires? These will be super cool. My plan was to mount up the tires to the wheels and then on Xmas she would open them and it would just be a quick swap and have some fun.

Well I did a compare test this evening and now I fear I've gone too big with my tires 😑.

I realize these are probably not the best photos, but upon initial look I doubt these will clear the body, especially on the rear.

So I'm coming to you fine folks for some help.
Did I royally mess up and now I'm stuck with these wheels/tires?
Can I get by with some wheel hexes with offset to clear the body?
Maybe a lift kit for the scout body?!😆

I can try to get some other pics soon too.

The 1.3's are too big, ask me how I know. yep I made the same mistake, other than trimming the body beyond recognition, your best option is to buy a new set of 1.0 wheels and tires. I tried every trick I could think of but no dice. You could always pick up a Redcat Apex to put the 1.3's on, that's what I did. 😜🤣

Dang, I knew I was hosed. Bummed I have to replace with new wheels... possibly tires too. Maybe I can get away with new 1" and mount to existing tires. Not the most cost effective for new tires/wheels, but I'm glad I'm not the only one to have over shot here. 😄

Other option could be throwing them in the SCX24...for fun. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I can't put my finger on it, but something is out of place.

It's not the best pic. I just set the wheel tire next to the current, which I understand getting the wheel centered with the axel will lift it at touch. But those tires are pretty big so regardless, I doubt it would clear the body.
The other thing I thought I could try is mount to a 1" tire rather than the 1.3" 🤔

Yeah they are a bit too large. I've don't' that myself a time or two. I just toss them in the parts box and re-order.

That's what id do. Try stretching a tire. Back in the day they put 2.8 tires stretched on 3.2 wheels on stampedes. Gave it a low profile kind of look. If that fails save them for a new car like above. He who dies with the most toys wins. 🫡🤪😁

Exactly. It's not worth the return.

I am curious to just try it, something I haven't done before. Otherwise, maybe it's time I get the hubby his own Crawler 😆
