Fishy my boy... I am right there with you.... to take a line from our own Sweet D...... "Shhhhhh it's Brushless!"

I wonder if any of the Ofna kits will work with the Jammin buggies?

I'll find the link from the exhibition class that ran at CRCRC electric race. I think they had 28 total show up. I was really surprised as to how loud they were.

Well, I have my kit ordered for the Hyper 7 I just got in a trade! Too bad its a March release date now. I ordered a kit, already recieved my HV ESC, and I ordered the 4.5 HV brushless motor, the 13t and the 5mm conversion.
Figured I would just stick with Novak, I got the ESC and motor as "remanufactured", so I got them on the cheap, but 120 warranty

Just got a email from Jackie the CS manager at Novak, LATE March release date, if there are no set-backs.

Sweet my friend. I would have had one ordered as well... but they don't make one for the Jammin buggy I have....... Maybe I will pick up a used roller for one of the motors they do make them for. You will have to let us know how that goes.

Still patiently waiting for this for my STR.

I also now have a Hyper 7 Pro kit that has been partially assembled. If the kit works as well as I think it is, I may get one for it as well.

What motor esc combo are you going to go with for your STR?

Yeah, the hyper 7 is a outdated chassis, but I figured what the heck, why not?

I am very suprised they dont have a kit for the Jammin, VERY weird, since there are a TON of them out there.

I am going to throw in their 4.5.

Still waiting on this, its really ticking me off! Rob, I have heard some bad stuff about using the 4.5, and the 6.5 in a buggy app.Mainly too much heat, and it going into thermal after about 10 mins. there is a huge thread on rctech on this.

I noticed RC-Monster has already been making motor mounts for 1/8 scales...they look ALOT better design too since it suspends the motor on a plate that is part of the center diff mount....no way for the pinion gear to flex away from the spur....anyone tried those yet?

Well, Novak says the way they mount the motor is for better heat dissapation. I like the other design better as well. I am really thinking of canceling my order, since they are STILL not shipping them yet

It will work for my application since the longest race would be 6 minutes.

I thought the Tecno system was better, It still uses your clutch and your clutch bell, This smooths out the power of the brushless motor, I have heard better things about the mamba speed controlers also.

The Tekno system is for the Revo. It is a slick system.
The Mamba for 1/8th apps is not out yet, wish it was. people use the Mamba on their revos, but would not say to use it on a 1/8th

Well I guess that I should explain..The Tecno mounts are designed for the revo..but they will work with any Truggy or Buggy..If you look at how the mount is made you know that you could adapt it to any truggy, It is a 3 piece mount, Motor plate, motor mounts and last the mounting bracket for the revo. If you know how to use a drill you should have no problems, The Tecno Revo clutch system is the best way to mount a clutch bell and be able to still use the stock brakes that came on your Truggy. As far as the Mamba motors and speed controllers they are rated by KV, I know that the Mambas are only 540 size motors but they do have enough power to work in an 1/8th scale. Being able to use a clutch on a brushless does a few things, first it allows use of the stock braking system, second..it smooths out the power delivery. I know lots of guys that mix and match to get the performance they want..Some of us like to tinker..

OHHH, I like to tinker!!

Never having a revo, I never really thought about using the Teckno system. HMMM......

What Mamba motor would you use for the 1/8? I would think the heat would be too great for this? And what gearing would you think to use?

Come on Novak.

The race season will be half over before this is released.

So has any one here done a Novak HV Brushless conversion to there 1/8 scale yet? I was thinking about converting mine but wanted to get some feed back first...
