Good morning to all-
So the morning being Sunday, and the wind being low to none, I decided to take myself and an airplane up to the local elementary school parking lot for an early morning flight.
This parking lot is large, paved, and with very few light standards or anything else for me to crash into, so this is a grand place to fly small planes.
I took my old yellow XK300 Staggerwing biplane- it's one of my favorites- it's not aerobatic much, but it flies so nicely scale and slow and looks so very nice as it goes smoothly through the air.
Made a good takeoff and did a few turns around the lot, and then I dove to get a bit of speed and did a nice lazy loop- just to prove to the plane and myself that we could do it.

A few folks passed by on their way to church or Wal-Mart, I reckon, I'm sure they wondered what that man was doing standing in the empty parking lot looking up at the sky so intently.

I flew the yellow plane around until I figured the battery was getting low- there's no such thing as telemetry on this low-end transmitter, so I have to estimate battery power and such.
And I took the little plane on base and then final and then a fairly smooth- just one bounce, not so bad for me- landing. It rolled to a stop and then I wanked to retrieve the plane- it doesn't control when on the ground at all.

And then I came home and now I'm telling you all about it.

A good start to a Sunday the first of September year of out Lord, 2024.

you all be safe and keep well- Ed
