Good morning to all-
So, my ordered Eflite UMX Viper- the newest model- the little one- arrived yesterday evening too late for a flight, so this morning I took the new one down to my flying field, sent her up, and found out what she can do.

Well, Fellers, what she can do is go like a skinny cat hearing a catfood can being opened... Very fast little plane. It handles well, is solidly aerobatic, and lands well- but she comes in hot... needs a long landing runway. It ground steers quite well, too. All in all, a very fun plane to fly.

Assembly out of the box takes perhaps 45 seconds. this jet uses a30c 450mah battery- the same one that the Eflite umx f-86 Sabre uses, so I already had a stock of these batteries on hand.

This is a fun little plane- I look forward to flying her some more- perhaps this afternoon...

Flying these little UMX planes is a whole lot more fun than sitting around listening to the insanity coming down on the news...

you all be safe and keep well- Ed

Ed, glad to hear that you are still enjoying your UMX planes. They really are a lot of fun. :)

Good morning to all- Here's a pic of the new little fast mover- this is a good little flier.

new jet.webp

Good afternoon to all-

Mike- you are so correct... I am having trouble following ANYTHING fast in the air, and the colors on this little jet make it very hard to keep track of it. so far, I haven't lost it, but I have to be double careful on bright, sunny days.

Good morning to all-

Fellers- I just for back from an early-early morning flight with this new little umx edf jet.

As usual, it flew great, and I found that the nav lights on this little plane are BRIGHT- makes it much easier to see in low-light, cloudy conditions. It would be very tough to fly an unlighted or under-lighted plane this morning, but this little plane was visible WWWAAAYYY out there in the gloom.

And the ground handling of this plane is just about the best I have found- will make a 360 turn in a very short distance, and keeps on track well.

Do I recommend this plane? Yep, I sure do...

you all be safe and keep well- Ed

That Viper looks great, Ed!

Having worn glasses since elementary school, my eyesight is piss poor. Probably one of the reasons I'm a horrible sky pilot. My flying is essentially just relegated to pc simulators. Which is where I've flown the larger sized rc Viper version. Even in a simulation, it is fast, and can be a handful.
