Hi all....first, I am not an RC hobbyist so I hope you can overlook that issue. Here is what I am working on and seeking advice for. My daughter has a special needs dog that must remain in a vertical position for feeding and then remain in a vertical position for 15 minutes after being fed. I have already built the feeding chair (if anyone is interested search Youtube for "Bailey chair for dogs"). What I am attempting to do is build an automatic pet "treat dispenser". This dispenser will be used for the 15 minutes that the dog needs to remain upright after feeding. I am using a 6 sector, 180 degree divider for the treats. Basically I want the divider to rotate 30 degrees every two minutes and drop a treat into the dogs bowl. I will be using Arduino and an RC servo motor to rotate the divider wheel. Now this is where I am having an issue and seeking your advice. How to attach the servo motor drive to the treat divider wheel. I would like to use a micro server motor that can turn a fixed gear on the divider wheel (the divider wheel is made using 1/2 wood). From all my searching I only see motors that appear to use assorted plastic flanges that attach to a load and I would like to use a gear on the servo motor that would mesh with a gear on the divider wheel. Sorry if this is confusing,,,,I have attached a file that demonstrates what I am attempting. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
