Hi everyone, i'm trying to fix a rc redcat .21 for a friend. I got the car and wound not start, found it was set way to rich (high and low speed) so i put them to factory setings and got it to start. Tuned the engine and thought it was set, but when i went to restart it (nostart). Found it's flooding. So after about 30mins and checking for air leaks, put in a new glow plug. Found the only way to start it is to blow all the fuel out of the line and the cylinder then it will start and run great. Talk to lhs and they said it had to be bad cylinder and piston. So i took the head off and looked but looks fine but it seams to have low compression. But it runs so good when it runs. Any ideas wound be great. Trying to help a 12yr old kid out and don't won't to tell him he needs a new engine. Thanks.

Also the cars only got about 1/2 gal. of 20% fuel run thow it.

Sorry but it sounds like you need at least a new sleeve and piston if you don't want to buy a new engine. Running until it gets hot then won't start till she cools down is a sure symptom of sleeve and piston worn. Builds up heat and looses compression and won't run. However you want to word it, it all ends the same. Hate to be the bad news guy.

Check the For Sale section, I have a .21 for $75, cheaper than what it'll cost to fix that one. You'll just need a rubber carb boot for it.
