I suppose. Maybe some better driving would help too. Accidents should be avoided, no matter how ridiculous the safety measures might look.
Its prob better than the goofy 12' orange flags! 🤣
I guess its all in what someone enjoys.
The lights on my truck and cars are added for lighting up trails and foggy roads.
Not much chance of a 60mph flying buggy shooting out of the woods at me but deer and moose are a major concern.
I don't know the ppl in the dunes in the accidents you're talking about. I don't wish an accident on anyone! 🤞
My vision of this place is a bunch of rich yahoos that have no idea how to drive mixed up with a bunch of renters who have even less of a clue.
Pepper in a few ppl who have a realistic budget and generally build their own buggies so they understand how they work and their limitations...
Its like going to a car or better still a bike show.
Boating is like this too.
Maybe its not all like that but I'll just point out, I know a LOT of mechanics.... not ONE owns a $300k dune buggy. 🤷‍♀️
It's generally none of that, and 100% lack of a spotter for jumps actually.

I'll let someone else stand out in the dunes with a safety vest and a flag. Even if I was in a caged buggy, I'd still be worried about getting hit!
Are there x-game dirt bikers, atvs there too?
Certainly I've seen them ride on tv etc but are they allowed there?
I would imagine they would add to some of those crashes too.
Are there permits, speed limits, rules etc or is it like the salt flats kind of thing? Any limitations on the hp and machine sizes? Safety equipment?
That sort of stuff might need reviewing too.
The machines generally are safer now than say 20 years ago.
I really do understand the need and use for the flags and whips but letting everyone know where you are doesn't mean you belong in the drivers seat necessarily.

Generally professional riders will take all the necessary steps to promote safety.
Yes, you need a sticker to ride, drive out there.
No idea on HP or speed limits, but doubtful, as it should be.

You sound like someone that wants to regulate away fun, and I am in no way for that. Life is dangerous, don't like it, then don't even go outside I guess. You're much more likely to die in a car crash on the way to work that anything that's ever happened in the dunes. Or better yet, slipping in your shower, etc.

I smoke pot every day. I'm about the most unregulated person in this group.
You think putting ppl on the dunes to stand between flying dune buggies us a safer idea thsn teaching thrse asshats how their machines work. Reality is an unfortunate part of life. 3s cars aren't often allowed on indoor tracks due to dangerous speeds.
Out door rc is regulated too as is almost 100% of PROFESSIONAL RACING! The ppl who have brought you almost EVERY safety upgrade in motorsports... ever.
THEY have regulations and speed limits and lots of other things too.
Not to make racing suck, but to keep racers alive. We HAVE seen what happens when dragsters and Nascar exceed their limits.
You prob know better tho. 👍

Cool to see this, but my Kraton 4s runs well in dunes. I toss it in the back of my 1:1 buggy, and let her eat. The Kraton also turns and jumps very well, at the dunes, something I did not see tis sand car do in either of the two videos I watched. I'm not really much of a Traxxas guy, and don't currently own any. Don't see that changing anytime soon.

I agree i've bought over 15 Traxxas cars and trucks in my 5 - 6 years in my RC life and i don't feel like buying anymore i sold off most of them years ago and now only have my XO-1, X-Maxx, Slash 4x4 Ultimate and Hoss 4x4 now i have started buy more Arrmas i currently have 3 a Felony, an Outcast 8 EXB and a Vendetta hope to get a new Kraton 6s EXB V6 someday, maybe a Limitless V2, a Senton 223s and maybe a Fury 223s. I also have a Rlaarlo AK-917 Carbon and an Associated B74.1 and i'll soon get my very first Tamiya kit a Super Clod Buster black edition. Who knows what else i'll have after all that.

Big o slicks on the back it’s a drag car , xrt stock tires it’s a jumper , paddle tires it’s a sand buggy , I’ll be getting one so all you can seperate into small groups and giggle at my expense of !!!!!! $1400 !!!!!!! Hurts just to say that honestly but can’t put a price on fun ,,,, or did Traxxas just do that , completely awesome drive train on this thing 1.5 mod gearing are you kidding me

Do its dimensions (wheelbase/width) fit into a drag class? Hard to think it would be competitive with purpose built drag cars w appropriate aero, low CG, etc. Not sure exactly what the expectation is on jumping, but with less than 50% of the powered rotational wheel mass of a dedicated stunt truck, like an Outcast or Notorious, it will likely relatively suck at aerial flips/stunts. Not trying to pee in your Cheerios, but rather offer considerations of realistic expectation, on a expensive purchase. If you do buy one, I sincerely hope you enjoy it. :)

Oh no , it’s all good , first off I’m no slacked jawed yokle, badge , trophy n plaque hunter here I’m just saying I’ll put slicks on this thing and see if I can burn them off the wheels and no it’s not gunna be a flipping circus toy eather , but I’ll jump that thing 60 ft. And land it like a wet towel and the paddle tires need no explanation, again folks ,,,, ITS A TOY ! Play with it🤣🤣🤣

It's pretty cool. Kinda heavy. But 12s. The body is very heavy. Tires are good. The A arms are just plain plastic. Not for bashing. Sand, open terrain only. Not much suspension travel. Again, I'm a basher, so...
It is a cool RC. It's Huge!!

Looks neat but for the price i would rather have a Kraton 8s EXB RTR or a new X-Maxx belted if i didn't already have both an X-Maxx and an Outcast 8s EXB. But that's just me talking if anyone wants one and are will to pay $1,300 for it not including tax, charger and batteries.

I totally agree. If I lived at the beach or around the dunes, I could see it. I'd rather have a O8S

I love mine so far, As i've mentioned i bought mine on sale for $400 from Horizon's website during their site rework. I just ran it less than an hour ago and it was blast in my front yard and street it would rip and hold a straight wheelie from a standstill.
