yes the motor mounts are a block really. and your cb has two gears on it..

Not really. It's just a traxxas two speed still has one gear on the cb and is internally shifted. The one like you have has a deal that shifts on the inside of the gear that is why you need a cb with two gears instead of one like most rc cars. The two gear cb will go on a traxxas with the right crap. But this .18 I have will be a freebee if you want it.

U gotta deal lol that would still be nice to get me started and il figure out how to make it work later on.

Before you do anything else, CLEAN THAT KIT UP! Lol. I would be afraid to run fuel through that line. Congrats on figuring out what you have too. Can't wait to see it cleaned up and ready for some laps! :thumbs-up:

Oh of course me and the girlfriend are gonna sit down and strip it and make it look new lol

So I cleaned it up il post pics in a sec. The servos are the original my brother told me and they all say virctory hawk vh- 3810 could that be the brand ?

Never heard of those. I run savox steering and throttle, LOVE THEM. Powerful and really quick to respond.

Can any servos work for throttle and steering?? Or should I look for something specific?

You wan't the servo with the most torque for steering. For throttle this doesn't matter so much. Also you wan't metal gear servo's if possible. Something quick for both. I recommend Savox. Fatuba are good as well.

Most torque and metal geared got it. And I'm assuming the stuff that's screwed in on the top of my servos is gonna come off and go on the new ones right? How do I know there on right?

The servo horns are included with the servos (make sure they are). You can also (if bling is your thing) get aluminum horns in various colors. Do you have the throttle/brake linkages? Looks like the steering link is there. Also looks like at least the steering servo mounts upside down?? Do you have an engine for it yet? Don't know anything about road kits, love road racing though. Man I'm gonna end up with a GT car. Probably the best advice would be to look at some YouTube vids related to working on Rc nitro GT cars. From what I've seen they're all somewhat similar. If possible download a PDF of the manufactures manual, with that in hand you would have all the information you need (hopefully).

Want to reiterate the importance of getting your hands on the manual. In most cases for what you still may need hardware wise for your kit. All of these kits are going to uses the same size nuts and bolts in one place or another. The manual should tell you the sizes of all the hardware and then it doesn't matter the manufacturer. If your missing any hardware. Lol

Oh and maybe jump in the touring car section maybe someone that typically posts and browses there could help as well.

Nice I will. Well all the servos I've seen online are just the box no arms. Yeah I have a throttle arm one side is a short arm with a spring the other is just a long rod I'm sure for the brake but I havnt figured out how it attaches. Yeah I still need to see ihow the motor is gonna hook up and with whichever bell housing I get. Il check it out. Is there a good better and best of street tires just wondering before I order them

I guess it really depends on what you plan to do with the car. If you're just gonna run it on sidewalks and asphalt I'd get something durable. Probably a hard compound tire. If you have a track near by and plan to check that out, might want to wait and see what surface you would run on there.

If and you want high torque servos, I will post the ones I use. High torqe and affordable. A lot of guys will not try them because they only cost 8 bucks. And to each his own. But they are metal gear and pretty fast too.

Just search MG995 servo on ebay

There is a servo data base in the electronic section of this site. I sent a link to it the other night I'm a pm. It is worth a million bucks when you are searching for servos.

Nothing wrong inexpensive alternatives no matter what part you're looking for but in all cases make sure to do as much research as you can on what you're buying. This way you already know what issues people typically run into with the very same items and can be prepared for when you have the same ones. The same rule of you get what you pay for still applies here just like anywhere else but there are plenty of great deals to be had, just have to search for 'em. For instance the servo's I got we're on sale (can't remember exact price) apparently because Savox was about to release newer "better" versions and I got a great deal on the ones I picked up. I had narrowed it down to my choices being between Savox and Futaba, went with Savox for the above reason. Futaba convinced me to go with them on a slightly older model (but still great) tx/rx combo, the T3PL. Not as flashy as the radios the pros use but I'm all about function before form and the T3PL functions flawlessly and at a great price. The 3PL is a bit old now and there are better deals to be had for sure, just do some research before you pull the trigger or anything you buy. :thumbs-up:

Something else I wanted to touch on. Have you had the front and rear diffs apart?

no i havnt but my brother said he had recently opened them and regreased them... is it hard to get them open and clean and regrease and put them back together? tire question just for asphalt whats a good idea for tire. good grip for launching do they make slicks for these things lol i just ordered those mg servos two of them and they come with arms and pins for both steering and throttle.

If it is a Redcat, and if its old you'll be troubled finding original parts- but you can go down the route of after market, but the rest of the car may not be able to handle the power, plus Redcat aren't that great for racing- if you are racing and If you struggle to find parts then look towards HPI, Kyosho ofna or losi. For an engine look towards Novarossi or Werks- or maybe if you're on a budget o.s- but don't go too extreme, a mid range .18 will do. As for the clutch just use something you can afford and upgrade later if it's giving you problems.
