I just purchased my first RC Crawler a 1/24 scale Axial Ford Bronco. It’s impressive out of the box but top heavy. Looking to upgrade, any recommendations to what I should do?

Just wait a bit. Sales are around the corner. Brushless upgrades and stuff. Hold the line. Wait for bargain. -Sun Szu

Hi! Welcome. i got this wonderful tip from doom! Somewhere on this forum is his tutorial on how to put small leadstrips around the rims. In the tires. This worked fantastic in my 1/18 eazy rc arizona.
Used to be on the roof continuously.
Now it is no longer top heavy. More like bottom heavy. 😁

This tip and tutorial is actually from me. However, it won't work (easily) with Axial, since the tires are glued onto the wheels. Aftermarket wheel weights are a much simpler solution.

I like to call this the snow-ball effect.
You add weight down low such as:
A nice set of Injora aluminum or brass beadlocks with some better tires. Dont forget the inserts. Wheels n tires are usually the biggest game changer for these rigs.
Now the servo begins to struggle. Start searching for an affordable micro servo. Meus or injora once again for affordability.
Now you notice a weak motor or jumpy esc, or the motor just flatlines one day. Time to decide whether to stay brushed or go brushless.

The main goal here is weight down low. You don't need a bunch of brass all over the place to make a 1/24 really capable.

Wheels and tires are always my first upgrade. @TeknoJ pretty much nailed it. I like to upgrade one item at a time, so I can see how much difference each upgrade makes. Not all upgrades are beneficial on every rig. They each have their own personality.

Sorry to give your credits away Xraycer and again Thanks for the tip! 🙃
I wasn't concern with the "credit", but if the OP went searching for that thread under Doom!, he's not going to find it.
