My friend had a TC4 that he never used, so he sold it to me for 90 bucks. He used it like twice and never looked at it again.

I haven't run it yet but the batteries are charging now so I can try it out tomorrow. I had to solder some Deans on since it still had the Tamiya plug. It looks to be in pretty good shape, only some scratches on the bottom.

It's got an LRP ESC with a Reedy motor. Not sure what turn but I'll try to figure it out tomorrow.

I noticed one thing though, the motor doesn't have any capacitors soldered to it, will that be ok as long as I use my 2.4 ghz system?

EDIT: I ran it and there weren't any problems that I could tell. This thing is fast, lol.

I have two TC 4's, both brushless, one lipo, the other not. Lipo one is absolutely insane, and you can run it for what seems like hours (yeah, it really is more like 1/2 hour, but it sure feels long).

How much faster does it go with just the brushless setup? IMO, just with stock setup (6 cell, all deans connectors) it hauls some ass, but how does the brushless get up and go?

BTW, a thing that kinda pisses me off is that the guys at the hobby shop told me not to get a 7 cell battery because the ESC couldn't handle it. I read up and it can :\ I think I'll probably get one later for when I feel the need for speed.

This will depend on how many turns the motor is and gearing just like with brushed motors.

I have raced in the Mod class using a Novak 4.5R and it was ballistic in the straight sections on 6 cell NiMh's.

On the same race days I would also race in the stock class using a 17.5R. It seemed like it was crawling around the track compared to Mod. LOL

i have a tc4 as well, and i like it!! its bone stock, and it does scoot pretty good. i will probably go with a brushless setup this summer. what about the velion systems?

I'm not looking for ridiculous speed, just enough to where I can do a bit of street racing around the neighborhood, as well as some drifting. I'll get a 7 cell eventually so that will help a bit.

As it is, it goes pretty well and I can drift a little by holding the throttle down, but I need more power to really break it loose.

Basically, I'm just looking for a good balance in budget and power. I'd say my budget is around $175. I'll go higher if it's not ridiculously expensive.
