It finally happened, I did it, I bought my first new Spektrum surface TX a DX6C to kick off my journey with a new company which i hope will be much better than the previous radio i had which was a Radiolink RC8X. Which in my opinion as well as people like @DavidB1126 and many other people on this forum and elsewhere is a miserable nightmare of a TX which promised a lot but failed to deliver on terms of reliability and quality. But here's hoping my Spektrum will be much better moving forward and i can move on like @DavidB1126 he moved on to Flysky and Futaba as i will with
Spektrum. Here's the box of my new radio along with the extra AVC receiver i bought for my Felony "Crusher Serena"

Here's a pic of it out of the box with both receivers the SR315 it came included with and my SR6200A AVC. Of course the 6200 will again go into my Felony and the 315 might go into my Hoss or a Future project. My first out of box impressions are great it feels super solid and not cheap feeling like my RC8X does but also close to my old Futaba 4PM i bought years ago that i still have.

Here's all my current radios at the time of making this post the RC8X, T4PM and the new DX6C with their RX's.

Here's the AVC receiver inserted into my Felony again called Crusher Serena almost ready to be bound and calibrated.

As they say out with the old and in with the new or in my case, Out with the sad, miserable and disappointing RC8X and in the new and promising DX6C with AVC.

My grand plan moving forward i mainly bought the DX6C to collect receivers and get a feeling for Spektrum's surface units then get ready for this bad boy coming next year. The IXSR once i come with the receivers and funds to get this monster of a TX or who knows i might just stay with the DX6C if it works out good enough.

Hope you all like this post, But remember always get a good quality TX\RX combo don't cheap out with Chinesium no name radios and receiver or you'll end up regretting it like i did trying to cheap out and crawling back to Futaba or any other reputable brand like i ended up doing with this new DX6C then eventually the IXSR. Cheers i'll see you all later.

I have the DX5C but the only compliant I had was the fact I couldn't get the Gyro system to work.
No big deal however, it didn't slow me down.
Anymore though, when I build a rig, I buy another radio system so all the kids can run them.

That's interesting, I'm hoping it'll be a great radio after my RC8X failure i also looked up and found a video from a guy called Miguel Flores on YouTube he showed how to calibrate the AVC\Gyro feature which is the main reason i went with Spektrum.

The RC8x was a let down for a lot of people. I have a DX5 also and really don't have any complaints, it gets the job done. Hopefully the DX6 will live up to your expectations. My only real complaint with Spektrum is the receiver prices are higher than many others.

Thanks for your kind words and yeah the RC8X was definitely a let down not just for me but also @DavidB1126 his issues were a lot more severe than mine but i'm shocked how Radiolink wants to sweep them under the rug and ignore them. I do hope than the DX6C will hopefully live up to what i expect from it and hopefully set me up for the eventual future with the IXSR if i chose to go that route also yeah the Spektrum receivers are more pricey than others but almost in line with Futaba since the launch of the 10PX and their new F-4G receivers. I mainly bought the DX6C as not only a test but to start building my collection of receivers for the eventual IXSR upgrade if i still chose to go that route.

Good news, I was able to get around to setting up my new DX6C for the first time with my Felony and i got the AVC setup and calibration right the first time since i used that guide from that guy on YouTube.

Here she is all setup with the new radio.

I hope to get out and give the new radio it's first test run after setting up on bench sometime next week and i'll let you all know how it goes and what are my thoughts but i'm confident it'll be great. I think for the last 2 months of this year i'll be collecting more Spektrum receivers that work with this new radio for my current cars and a couple future ones then seeing how everything works and if this whole setup works well enough i'll start saving up for the IXSR. After i have the IXSR and this Radio i'll be selling both the RC8X and my old 4PM along with a few old\unwanted project cars\trucks and electronics.

Hi everyone, How's it going? So it's now been a couple of runs with the DX6C in my Felony and i got the AVC works but still battling what might be a failing Amazon servo. But so far i can confidently say i'm happy with the purchase of my DX6C and it works as good if not better than my old Futaba 4PM and definitely miles better than my untrustworthy and unreliable Radiolink RC8X.

Here's a few pics after yesterdays run that was almost an hour long session. But my Felony did get a mark and a dent in the body from hitting my step bro's car tire when i accidentally pinned it in the driveway but after this i took a magic eraser and removed it without damaging the paint. So it's all good no actual damage to the car except for a bent in part of the body. Arrma tough baby!

Although i only have a couple cars bound to the 6C and have only ran a couple of times it sure has proven to work great if not better than any radio that i've used so far. I feel the only limiting factor so far for that radio is the problems associated with my cheap amazon servo in my Felony. After i replace that cheap Amazon servo with something better then slowly get more of my worthy cars onto my new Radio i can safely sell the RC8X and move on from that unfortune mistake. And look forward to great future with Spektrum and after i've had some more time with the DX6C i might do a full review of it and i'll do one for the iXSR if i do get one.

Is the built-in antenna/antenna-less SR2100 receiver the only one that will work with the DX6C transmitter?
Pretty much all DSMR receivers should work fine on the DX6C i have the SR315 mine came with and a SR6200A AVC receiver bound up to mine so far and they all bound up just fine. Although this transmitter will only work at 11ms or 22ms with the receivers if you had a DX5 Pro you could bind the SR315 and 515 and the SR2100 at 5.5ms for fastest response on the new iXSR you do the same but on that radio you can only use 2 channels. Hope this helps but the short answer is it should work just fine.

Thanks for posting your thoughts on the DX6C radio. I guess I should have worded my question better, because I'm always taking the price of receivers into consideration when looking for new transmitter. The DX6C tics all the transmitter features wants/needs boxes of interest for me. I'm not worried about super-fast response times. The only "antenna-less" Spektrum receiver that I see is the SR2100. I'm at the point in the hobby where any new receivers that I buy for my rides, I'd prefer them to be the built-in antenna/antenna-less type. I didn't know if there were companies making lower priced Spektrum compatible receivers.

I believe the SR2100 is $99.99 US from most major hobby shops but you can find for less at places like Amazon or eBay if you look in the right places although it's a DSMR receiver so it should bind to any DSMR Radio but i'm not sure about the DX6C and it might be awhile until i can test it myself. I like mine so far although i mainly bought it to get into Spektrum's ecosystem for cheap and build up a collection of receivers for my biggest radio purchase ever the iXSR. Even though i know you can get good or similar performance with a cheaper radio like the NB4+ but it's too late for me to go back. The other great thing about Spektrum and their "Upgrade radios" Like my DX6C or DX6 Rugged or the mac daddy iXSR is that you can bind them to most of Horizon Hobby's vehicles that have DSMR receivers in them which is primarily why i went this route. Hope my info will help you and let me know if you do go through with buying yours.
