I want updates....and some nice outdoor scale shots...

Rolex's stuff outside????????????????? What kind of dope are you guys on????????????????

As with all the major builds I get into, I reach a certain point when I know everything is ready to come together as the final project, and I sit back and take a much needed break to get caught up on normal life.
This is the time I have to take the tail off and mount the machine inside the fuselage. There are a LOT of little parts that need to be lock tighted before the final button up.
Let me see if I can come up with a couple of pix to keep you calm. :D

rolex all i got to say is WOW that is huge and awesome looking!
If I only had a nickel for every time I heard that I'd have a dime. :D

OH NO, it got outside, EVERYBODY PANIC!! :hehe:

That thing is beautiful Rolex, amazing job on all the little details as usual. Nice work indeed.

So what does something like this cost from start to finish? If I were to ever get into helis I know you dont start with something like this, but this would be the reason I got into it, to work to this level.

Wow, that thing is beautiful and the detail work is amazing. I would love to see a vid of that thing flying.

I put a piece of speaker grill in the top rear window to allow air to hit directly on the fans. The grab handles were made out of brass rod and weathered to show the wear. There will still be some more weathering added.
Last night I finally hit on the solution for the radar windows in the nose of the bird, and hopefully I'll have that done tonight.
None of the photos have the tail attached yet, but currently it's a 2 blade instead of a 4. Same for the main rotor. If I want to go fully scale with 4 blade rotors I'd have to do a VERY expensive upgrade including the motor and ESC which has already been updated just to lift the fuselage.
More blades, more resistance, more work, more power, more heat....
Can't mess with mother nature's energy theories.

Maybe try going for a flybar-less 2-blade setup. That would get you scale looks, without going for 4 blades.
