How in the heck am I supposed to watch the neighbors sunbathe now? 🤔
Ooh, the things you get up to while Mrs Doom isn't there to keep an eye on you! :hehe:

Well I guess someday soon I'll have four cool little motors to use in something. :wacky:
I rarely use mine anyway.
Maybe they'll start having drone buy-backs to get them off the streets! 🤪

Punch a knot hole out, it’s much more discrete that way.. 👁️
That reminds me of a joke.

Guy is walking by a mental hospital. He hears patients on the other side of the fence chanting 32... 32... 32...

So he peeks through a knothole in the fence and someone immediately pokes him in the eye with a stick!

Then the patients start chanting 33... 33... 33 😝

Look how many consumer drones are out there in the wild.

Or in my case, 5" builds using DJI air units. And a Caddix.

'The List' in terms of National Security, trusted electronics for protectively marked systems - is a surprisingly small list. In the UK, rather than have a huge list of all the manufacturers that aren't to be used for sensitive applications, there's a much smaller list of those that can be used.

On top of that, if you've ever wondered why the stuff inside control rooms at military installations looks like it's from a different age - often it's because it's built and maintained in-house - at component level - to ensure security.

Can you imagine firing-up DJI kit for use at a sensitive Skunk Works range.......

'Sir! It's asking for username and password for essential update! Requesting permission to enter Skunk Works credentials....' 🤣🤭

Well, considering you can build better drones for less money than what any model dji offers… 🤷🏻‍♂️
Yeah, you're right there! It's the camera and stabilization stuff that DJI is good at. Their drones are like fragile F1 cars. My cousin has one of the larger drones and brushed a very tiny branch that any normal drone would have simply trimmed like a hedge trimmer. But his DJI took about $400 worth of damage after hitting it and falling 6 feet to the ground. You could build an entire drone chassis that is much more durable than that for less than $400.

I built 2 of my own and would happily build more - provided I can continue to utilise the excellent digital imagery I have become accustomed to.

My first attempt at building my Lumenier drone was a fail - the flight controller was wrecked. That and the 4 individual speed controllers, which was the old school way of doing things.

When I armed it - it kept shooting upwards to the moon and was unresponsive. Testing indoors would have resulted in a hole in the ceiling. And the roof. 😅😝

The rebuilt effort was so much better and flew perfectly.

The form factor of the DJI Action camera is so much better for drone use, I can't imagine swapping it for bulkier options without moving up to 7" drones.

Absolutely love them. FPV stuff is next level.

Great, so we spent a not small amount of money last year to buy ours, and now won’t be able to get support or parts for it. This is 100% BS, and government over-reach. And it all goes back to one guy that has non-stop lobbied the government for this. And conveniently, he owns the only US made drone company that is approved for use by our government.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to hate on dji, but their drones are way overpriced and like you said, fragile.

They do have excellent cameras and microphones though, I’ll give them that.
