ok, i know your supposed to punch out at least mark the holes before you paint. but what if you buy a pre painted body. how do you guys get the holes right? i dont think i have ever gotten them perfect... any ideas?

Or use tipex (whiteout) i did that with one of my bodies, and you can get it off the posts easily.

Or you send it to me and I will do it for a small fee, the ones I did on the lid I got from Ncnitro came out perfect. I can put antennae thru the hole and basically drop it into place.

by the way just joking I don't wanna try to do it again. I sat there with dremel in hand thinking do I really want to touch that work of art. I just had these bad images of me screwing it up running thru my head.

Place a light under the car. It will make the body "transparent". That way you can move the body around to get everything lined up were you want it.

tips on post holes?

For the most part, yes, you need them.

How'd I do?

BTW, take Nitro's advice. A small spot of paint on the tip of each. Set the body on and you have them nicely marked inside.

i was thinking one of those grease pencils or something. the whiteout would work to!! thanks guys. i should get those pointy things, they just look cool!

dont do whiteout it doesn't come off of anything very well.

instead before you paint lay it down on the rig and mark the outside then drill it and clean up your mark

Suicide, yes that is the best way, and what I do, BUT read Beasons very first post, he purchased a pre-painted body and wants to know the best way to mark the post holes now since it is no longer clear.

oh okay. all of what i said was based on a clear body. sorry i overlooked that
