I'm not going to go too much into these, but I will post some pics as I go. These bodies are for our two SCT's. The Losi XXX, and the Tekno SCT410 2.0.

6 coats of Bitty Design liquid mask applied.

I then cut out all the black details, which is the entire cage area, front air vents, and window trim. Sprayed black.

First coat was a real light one, followed by some hair dryer action to speed things up, then a heavier coat and repeat. This is after the 3rd coat.

And this is about 3 coats later.

Next up is peal the remaining liquid mask and I am going to candy the heck out of the front end of both trucks. I am still undecided on the colors. But I think the Tekno will get a true fire looking paintjob on the front (yellow, orange, red), with a medium blue candy on the back. The Losi I might do in blue/green fire, with a medium gray on the rear. Still undecided. I'm going to attempt this, just for practice. If it turns out bad... oh well. They're SCT's 😆

The candy is pretty translucent when applied? Am I remembering that correctly?

That yellow comes through nicely
Yes. With Createx Candy 2.o, it is a dye instead of a pigment. The more you apply, the darker it gets. If I kept going, it would eventually turn almost black.

If I spray black over it right now, the yellow would disappear.

Playing with fire, and I haven't quite got it yet because my airbrushes are spraying too big of a pattern. But I think I know what I need to do, which may involve paint brushes. It's just a pain trying to do all this in reverse order while getting things to blend properly. One more speed shape test in a bit, then I'm gonna just wing it on the XXX body.
