good evening ,
i came across a deal i am considering trading for but i am confused as to whether or not to do it ,i have my .25 from my savage up for-sale as you can see in my add and a lot of misc parts and cage i am offering for 2 wasp .28's one is brand new and the other has 1/2 gallon on rebuild not pinch
BUT I have heard that the wasp is a pita to tune and air leak city .but then i read a different forum and they say nothing but good things about them .
I will trust you guy's opinions regardless if you say go for it or steer clear ,no arguments or what ifs
i have found true and honest friends from here over the last year and i sincerely trust each and everyone of you .
thank you in advance
rick

why not trade and sell both 28's and then get the mill that youd like. If it were me. I would do that deal.

the guy backed out of the deal said he didnt want to sell a POS
thought that was cool that he was straight forward and told me .

Or he found some other sucker giving him more... I've run into that before.

I've only had one orion engine and it was a good little runner. It was the wasp 18. I had it in my maxx. I ran the crap out of that thing and it never had issues. I think I ran about 8 gallons through it, then I sold it along with a brand new in box wasp 18 with a snapped crank. The LHS owner snapped it when installing a clutch on it for a kid.

Anyway, I ran that thing hot, cold, lean, rich... it wasn't the most powerful thing, but it always started and always ran. Also never had a problem with the one-way in all 8 gallons. I did break a starter spring though, but after rebending the end, it was fine for the remaining 7 gallons of abuse.

I know your not getting the engines, but I just thought I'd share my wasp experiance.

that's could be the case that he got a better offer ,but i was just concerned about getting rid of a good running mill and getting a POS ,thats why i asked the question and he gave me the choice as to going thru with the deal or not ,and it was me after him explaining all the problems he had with the rebuild .28 ,who knows maybe they would have been fine in my climate ,he lived in GA ,oh well i am looking forward to purchasing a STS .28 for my savage i already shimmed the diffs and added the extra pin in the 2 speed ,but i am seriously considering getting the 3 speed ,

My experience with Waap .28s was good. I had two of em, and loved em both. A lot of people have had troubles with them, but I loved mine. When new they are tight as hell and a pita to start but once they get broken in they are beasts.

Just thought I'd share if anyone else is looking in to this engine.

I've heard good things about the STS, my frined has an SH .28 and its a decent engine for the price, lots of torque.

well i did it ,i talked it over with the guy and we traded ,the .28's will be here tomorrow for sure ,it now i have to wait for a nice day to run we are to get hit with a major snow storm starting tonight and 1 to 2" of snow an hour ,so i will wait for a nitro fix cause i am not into risking water damage to my eletronics
anyway i will let ya know when i run my new mill and how it works
take care

well i just got back after a quick nitro fix .lol
i received the wasp .28 yesterday as stated earlier and installed it last evening ,all i can say is unflippin real .this mill is a beast and it was rich at 4 1/2 hsn but i left lsn alone(210/220) ,msn is all the way in ,the only thing i need to do is adjust my shift point but that will come after i re-gear it 18/49 i think it is just to wicked with the 15/52 and is shifts as soon as you hit the trigger and it still flips it over on to its roof just unreal ,it way to low geared but I love it .
and to think i got a brand new 1 waiting also never mounted so i may just look for a roller to stick that in ,but first experience with this mill was sweet

Glad you like it. You got a helluva deal man. These 28's are freakin beasts! That low gearing is fun at first, but youll hate flipping on your back at the blip of the throttle...i sure am. Hope the weather stays nice for you so you can have your fun bro!!

well i came home and change to 18/49 and went back out to run a little ,wouldnt start ,thinking what the @#$% so i pulled the plug out and nothing it has been awhile since i last charged it dbl checked with anotehr plug and it was good to go, so now i need to wait for my hobby shop so send an order in tuesday and it will be flippin friday till i can run again ,
so i will let ya know how the next run goes so far i love this thing
