Need help with idenity?

Short story. Ok this guy at my school knows nothing about rc cars and this weekend decided to buy one. I walk into auto first period and he says hey check out what I bought, I followed him to his car and he pulls out this goofy lookin truggy thing. Now I know alot of rc modles and a bunch of usless knoledge about this sport beings iv been at it for 5 years now, and I have never in my life seen anything like it. Heres what I know and the best description I can give. Its got HPI servos, A gold chassie and gold shock towers, the shocks are blue with neon yellow springs, the mill is a CEVIC 3.5 or something, and it has the mud gards on the chassi like a truggy. Now fist off, I was thinking it was a HPI because of the servos. So lets start here maby someone knows a old nitro powered hpi that fits the description. I know its hard with out pics but just list off things it could be. Ill try to get pics tomarrow, thanks for the help!

No he bought it off some crack head that had it. Its old i know that. Any old modle hpi truggy lookin truck out there. I'm taking my digital tomarrow but i just can't figuar this one out. Its so weird. I'm even thinking its a cen or something because of the motor but its got proline tires and filter on it so I'm stumped.

The only gold chassis I have seen are the Original AE GT Pan chassis's.

The AE GT didn't have a 3.5 in it though... does sound a bit like a cooperdillian mess. I wasn't aware of HPI making a truggy other than the hellfire and it came out in the past few years.

They do make a 4wd 1/10 though and it dates back a bit (MT2 -> Nitro MT), but it was purple all over and ran a .15ci engine.

Its definitely a home made truggy. All the bue reminds me of an Ofna rig. Can you get a better shot of it from the top?

Maby if I take my digital to school but my school isnt a safe place and it would probally get stolen in 10 minutes. He wishes he wouldnt have bought it but he only paid 60$ for it. Should I take it off his hands for 50$, thats what he offered to sell it to me for today lol. I'm starting to think its a offna buggie though, just with hpi servos.

And a slightly bent front shock tower. $50 might be a good deal, and then you could do a fixer-upper. I want to say it's an older Ofna model, pre-monster-pirate.

Ya the shock tower is bent, and the tire is glued backwards. But other than that the only thing wrong is its missing a pullstart, thats whats holding me back. Its got everything though, rx tx and stuff. Maby well see, I'm smelling another money pit lol.

Ok so this douche is freakin nutz. Hes fixing this thing up tonight(on day mind you and he has no clue how to tune). Then 2 kids from my school are bringing xtm excellerators to school with them tomarrow. I'm saposed to bring my revo and were all going to race to see who is faster. LMAO O my gosh this is going to be funny. I'm going to whip them into submission and there going to cry all the way home. I might even have to put money on this one. There all like o are cars are lighter then your monster truck yada yada yada just talking S*** you know. So tomarrow I'm going to shut the bone heads up seeing to how my revo has been behaving, but my luck ill start it up and the transmission will fry. Ill have to let you guys know how it turns out because its going to be good. I going to get my wood shop teacher as a judge even just so they can't blam it on something dumb. Maby ill get some pics too, but well see. On the line up tonight for me is lowering my truck to the second hole on the arms and puting a set of pins on maby.

Revos are quick but ST have surprising grunt speed.Even running my P5X in my storm with onroad tires still got me at the line. In the end I still took him but that was on an obstacle. I had a rare moment and beat him.

Don't get too confident.Those XTM ST's are pretty quick with the 18.

I dont know not these ones. We didnt race today, were waiting till tomarrow so everyone can get there cars together. Nobody knows how to tune. I'm just laughing at these fools with stock trucks that never take care of them, dont know how to tune and there trucks are still on stock settings, can take my revo 2.5 with a 3.3 and trinity. I helped one of them today get there crap together and on there truck just because I felt bad. One guy was all like ya I have a rustler that I converted to a t-maxx, :hmm1: shure is all I could say. So tomarrow were taking are shovles and making a couple of ramps out to this dirt feild, making a so called track, and running them till the cops show up. Should be good fun. O and the guy that I orginally posted this for, haha he dosnet know how to do anything to his buggy, still dosnet know what a buggy is, or even a st for that matter. Well ill keep you posted and take some pics of the through down.
