I was sold this as an Associated RC10 sc but exact model was unknown. Any ideas?

Sc10 of some sort
Maybe the original one
Idk
Rusty axles and turnbuckles
Most likely a og sc10
Battery strap is older. Newer Pro2 SC10 has a Velcro strap
Thanks. It needs a ton of cleaning. The bearings are awful, the shocks all leak and as you said, it's rusty. I have plenty of time to address all these items, but knowing the particular model helps in ordering parts.

Can you provide a top down chassis pic
So far it looks like an sc10rs but due to lack of chassis picture i can't be sure

I'd like to say it's a sc10.2 but i can't find any photos other than the factory team edition. Other than the upgraded parts it looks very similar

I did search the RS edition and it looks spot on. Hopefully parts are inter- changeable with some newer versions. It has RPM front arms on it. The front bearings are toast and the shocks are puking oul, caps are all cracked. The rusty links can be cleaned up as well as the dog-bones.

Yeah, the V2 RTR shocks and JConcepts rear tires are the standout components of a race spec SC10... provided that the previous owner didn't "hop up" an earlier version of the SC10.

Manual: https://www.associatedelectrics.com/teamassociated/cars_and_trucks/SC10/Race-Spec/manuals_setups/

The SC10 is a "4 series" (B4/T4) platform. The ProSC10/Pro2 SC10/Trophy Rat/DB10/RB10/SR10/DR10 are "5 series" based platforms. Besides a gear diff, not much is interchangeable between the two series of RCs, but some parts can be made to fit the SC10. The good news is, the RPM bumper/skid/chassis brace that's on there is one of the two best things that were ever made for the durability of the platform. 💪💪

I'm not sure on your intentions for the SC10, but doing your homework on parts availability may sway a decision this way, or that way. Download the manual and get searching. If you plan is to run the great old faithful from Associated, then I'd tell you to start grabbing an idler gear or two.

Good luck, and you never know... somebody, somewhere, might just be in the right mood to sell some of their old faithful goodies. 🙌🙌;)

Seems it's kind of a dinosaur. I can get shock parts and bearings. Probably just put cheap motor/esc setup in it and go from there.

It is, but still quite fun i have an sc10rs
Sooo are you the "somebody, somewhere guy who's willing to sell an old goodie? Lol
I ordered bearings and a shock rebuild kit with tops and caps. Now I'm on the fence as to run it or buy a new model. 🤔
