Hi ya everyone, How's your Wednesday afternoon going? Serena is back in action! i got all my parts and fluids in the mail from Amain this afternoon i worked on for over an hour so it's a good thing my visit to my grandparents was cancelled today.
20240410_135836.jpg

I rebuilt the differentials and put 100k fluid in the front and 30k in the rear so she still running stock wt diff fluid up front but in the rear i got an idea from an old youtube video of someones XO-1 tuning video. I also put new shock springs on her Revo\Slayer\Summit type springs Blue\5.9 in the rear and silver\4.9 in the front i got that idea from the old XO-1 guru Rhouse21 RC Physics youtube channel. And finally i bought new stock rear tires just because my old front set are still good but will eventually need to be replaced and at the same time i do that she'll get a new body and i'll rebuild all the driveshafts since the rubber boots are torn in the front and the rear are starting to dry rot.

So what's in the future for this car? She'll definitely stick around and i'll slowly start building more confidence running her at speed and eventually get setup to 100mph with her current electronics and setup then make changes if needed. After i finish refurbishing her and adjusting her to my liking i'll just run her as she is then focus on a new speed car project. Can you guess what my new onroad speed project will be? Bye for now.

Bingo you are correct! Even though i have thought of a Felony or an Infraction but i have thought of trying to adjust a limitless to be both a street and speed basher like my XO-1 currently is setup for. I'm in the debate if i should do a trick i learned from rattlecanonlexan on youtube with an Arrma center diff and some Scorched RC titanium center driveshafts or go with a Speedtek RC spool with a 46 - 50 tooth spur. If i did the Limitless i would name her Aria to go with Serena since Aria is my other favorite Pokegirl from Pokemon. Her esc and motor combo would be a Castle XLX2 with a 1721 1,260kv (If you're wondering why not a 2,400kv 1721 i learned they have no warranty) and for the servo she'd get a perfect pass servo then an R8FG receiver to pair to my RC8X.

My guess? ARRMA Typhon 6s.

[ Edit: Oops. Missed the cut. No limit to the number of Limitless being built. They run out good, that's for sure. Good luck. ]
Nice try kudos to you, I looked into Typhons for off road basher but i'm not really an 1\8 buggy guy. I'm leaning towards the Limitless since i love the F1 car style and how's it one of the fastest rc cars you can buy\build. Although mine will be setup for mostly bashing\course racing but also be capable of being a 120+mph speedrunner as well.

How's it going everyone on this Sunday evening? A couple days ago i finally got the chance to run my XO-1 called Serena once again after a couple months but crashed into a car tire full throttle by accident and bend another half shaft and broke the right ear off the front bulkhead.

Here's some pictures.

I also had to cut off yet another stripped set screw pinion gear with our dremel to get the pinion and motor taken off. which leads me to this.

If you haven't read this post yet here it is. https://www.rctalk.com/forum/threads/early-july-2024-rc-updates.142746/ If you did you may know i bought a new car this month an Arrma Felony 6s BLX rolling chassis and to help get it up and running next month i took out the Castle MMX8s esc and 1717 1,650kv motor from this car my XO-1 to use them in my new Arrma Felony. As well as take a break from this car since it's last run as kind of a nightmare it was sort of undrivable at speed always had adjust trim i guess the culprit is the bad and sloppy steering system in my XO-1 or my weak Amazon Special 25kg Servo. Along with over dampened suspension due to my spring selection from my last rebuild and somewhat uncontrollable spinning out from weak diff fluids.

This means this car will be down and out of order for awhile but this isn't necessarily the end of this build i do have plans to come back to my XO-1 late this year and will do a full restoration back to either stock ESC, Motor and radio system or Put in a new Castle Cobra 8 esc along with a brand new 1717 1,650kv motor from Perfect Pass (Raz Shiftrin's store website) coming for my 25th birthday next year. Farewell (For now) my old girl Serena 😥

I have a couple of cars that have been down for a couple of years due to similar accidents. I just can't find parts for these old TLR buggies and decided to move to Tekno and Arrma. One of these days I'll find parts on ebay or something. Anyway new builds are always more fun than old busted builds. Good luck with that Felony, they look fun. I plan to get a Hobao Racing 1/7 Extreme VT2-V2 one of these days for a speedster.

Interesting, Although i can still get parts for this car i just don't have the money to do it all right now and i also want to build up my new Arrma Felony next month once i get more money i will also put some money away to save up for my XO-1's re-rebuild sounds odd but that's what it feels like. I also made some mistakes rebuilding her the first time around like choosing the wrong diff fluid, wrong colors for her current body and wrong shock springs for street bashing they're too stiff for street bashing she hops around too much. BTW i also heard about those Hobao VTE2's i wanted one for awhile but will probably get a Limitless V2 for a speedrun car better parts support for the Arrma.

How's it going everyone? I know it's been awhile since my last update on my XO-1 but i have been working on her quite a bit i put her all back together and bent back the bent half shaft. I also put back the G1 HW Max 6 1,650kv 4985 combo i originally bought for this car last year i also started to get it to go straighter by tuning the toe and camber links but she's still pretty unstable compared to my Arrma Felony. I have plans to change the diff fluids and put in a higher quality and stronger steering servo after that i might try to get this car to go 100mph as it is once i find the proper area to run it at.

Here's some pic of her current setup

That's all for now, Stay tuned on all my current and possible future projects.

Hi everyone, How it's going today? If you've been following me recently you may know i have started to work on my XO-1 again after a long hiatus and now i got her mostly reassembled to where it looks like a complete car. but still hasn't been fully fixed she still needs a new receiver, the rest of the parts needed to make her fully functional again and diff fluids to fill the new Cobra Racing diffs i bought for her this month.

Here she is my resurrected XO-1, What do you all think?

She has a new receiver box from a new V2 XO-1 since i had to hack the old for my old radio and a new GPM aluminum bellcrank i bought to hopefully take some slop out of the steering. Next year she'll be getting a lot of new upgrades, new body, maybe new electronics but she'll be staying on the old trusty max 6 G1 combo for now.

Here's whats to come for this car.

rebuilt stock driveshafts

new Cobra Racing diffs with 500k front and 200k rear fluids

new Spektrum SR6200A AVC receiver to pair to my DX6C radio

new Ecopower WP200T

new Hot Racing servo horn

new Castle MMX8s\1717 1,650kv BL combo (Maybe)

new Power Hobby gripper tires (Maybe)

new Traxxas XO-1 V2 Clear body painted in candy apple red and silver

i'm also going to try a Traxxas 44 tooth mod 1 hardened steel spur gear intended for a Maxx Slash on this car (Maybe eventually)

She's looking pretty darn good!
Glad to hear that, This took a long time to decide if it was worth keeping my current car going or going out and buying an all new one but in the end i thought it'd be worth rebuilding my old one and improving certain parts that i know are a problem. But it'll hopefully be worth it in the long run to keep working and making this car be the best it can be.

I've been kind of interested in the Relarlo on road cars. A few guys here grabbed them and they're pretty cool.
I have one of those cars but i'm scared to run it since it doesn't have that great of local parts support since i mostly bash so it makes me want another 4-Tec like another 2.0 but a VXL one or a 3.0 C8 Corvette. Which i might be building my own 3.0 C8 Corvette sometime next year unless Traxxas comes out with a BL-2s C8 Corvette. But it's currently a debate if i want another 4-Tec or maybe buying a C8 body for my Felony or XO-1.

Well, running it and breaking something and waiting for parts is still better than it just forever sitting there. So at least go bash the crap out of it and enjoy it. They'll make more 😉

Hi everyone? How's it going tonight? I'm back with another XO-1 update but this time it's a big one since i transferred the electronics from my Felony the Castle MMX8s\1717 1,650kv combo, the Spektrum radio system and another amazon special servo i had laying around.

Here she is now without the body though.

Here's some other pics of this rebuild.

The MMX8s fits right in there and it's stuck down with gorilla double sided tape
20241217_173200.webp

The sensored 1717 fits perfectly on my scarred motor plate from last time this combo was in this car.
20241217_173157.webp

The Spektrum SR6200A fits that small receiver box with little room to spare.
20241217_180912.webp

Yet another Amazon special DS3225MG makes it's way into this car hopefully it will work better than the last one.
20241217_180918.webp

But she's still far from being a running and driving car still need a few other things.

How's it going everyone? Here i have some shots of my XO-1 after putting the new electronics from my Felony.

Here she is.
