my controler dont work any more!!!!
well my t-maxx went for a swim and now it dont work i cheked the turnning things and the make it go thing and the shift thing they all work is it the controler or the box that had the radio thing? what do i do???

Maybe your receiver is loaded with water. Take the box apart that has the antenna hanging out of it (on your TMaxx itself). Remove the receiver and CAREFULLY take it apart and run a hair dryer across it until all moisture is gone. Reassemble and give it a shot.

Check you batteries as well and make sure they have a good charge.

When taking apart the Receiver box, make sure you either mark which wires plug in where or at least take a photo. You dont want to screw up putting that back together.

Well the good news is if your receiver is toast you should be able to pick up a new or used one on eBay for next to nothing.

How did your T-maxx decide to go for a swim? Did you loose radio contact?

Now might be a good time to think about investing in some added insurance like a fail safe. A throttle return spring is a good idea too.

Gentlemen,
We all need to remember this forum consists of members that have varying knowledge of the hobby.

It will help both us and yourself to do a little research on the proper names of the parts. We will be able to help you better.

My mother did this for me as a kid. I now at a ripe old age have mastered the names of all my body parts. Thanks mom, can I move out yet?

elburro - What the hell is a "pushy thingy"? As Eddy mentioned giving the proper name for the part and or the part number makes solving the problem easier.

Okay, the pushy thingy is the thingy that pushes the make it go thingy to make it go. Read the manual already and quit bugging me about it.

My Public Apology To Bob-7

Dear Bob,

I am sorry I took the Pushy Thingy thing (no pun intended) too far. Skymaxx has alerted me of your complaint and I apologize to you. I took the subject of the thread to be something less serious than it is and I ran in the wrong direction with it. I thought you were joking around and made too much light of it.

Lets start with some terminology:

RADIO=a square or pistol type handheld controller with a long aluminum antenna and two levers (left for throttle right for steering) or one lever (trigger) and a knob (steering wheel). These levers and knobs control steering and speed.
RECEIVER=a rectangular device that is installed in your car or truck that receives signals from the radio and passes them to your Servos. Has a long wire antenna attached which is typically fed through a thin plastic tube that protrudes from the vehicle during use. Also connected to the receiver are your 3-wire leads to your servos.
SERVO=rectangular device that is used to control steering or throttle. The only moving part visible from the outside is a round protrusion that turns when power is on and you move your controls on your radio. Attached to the top of the protrusion is a servo horn.
SERVO HORN=typically a small white or black plastic peice in the shape of a "T" or "I". It has small holes in the arms through which your steering, throttle, and shifter linkages are connected.
LINKAGE=thin metal rods that connect from your servo horns to the steering tie rods, shifting levers, and throttle body on the carburator of your engine. These transmit the movement of the servo and servo horns to the respective devices.

Bob, based on the above terminology can you please give us a better description of the problem so that we may help you.

n/m i fixed it it was the "LINKAGE" the round thingy on it was broke i got a new one it works fine!
but now it runs too hot it is smoking a lot!!
