Hey all,

Today was a bad RC day for me. I already posted about how my maiden run with my TC Asuga and its new power system went awry. I also took out my CEN Reeper for its first run. That went nowhere fast.

It's equipped with a Castle Monster Mamba. It powered up fine, and the ESC beeped 6 times to indicate the 6-cell lipo. However, when I powered it on, I had very little steering and no throttle. I found that odd because I could see the LED on the ESC light up when I applied the throttle.

Please note I am running a loop connector and a Deans/XT90 adapter. Could either of those be a contributing factor? Any ideas on how to troubleshoot? Thanks so much in advance!

i had a Mamba Max Pro do the same thing to me a few years ago. it would power on fine making you think it was ok, it would steer very slowly if at all and sometimes that would shut it off while trying to steer. other times it would "turn off" (lights would go out as if it had been switched off) as soon as i hit the throttle or brake/reverse.
never bothered to look into it (as in contact Castle) i just figured it was toast.

I have to agree on trying to Calibrate the ESC before calling it done.

I believe with Castle you hold full throttle while powering on to begin the process. Then once accepted you go to full brake, then finally after it accepts brake you relax at neutral.

That did it! Thank you!
Cool! That was easy! Def try to remember that and then double checking your setting would be next. 😉

Def pick up a field programmer or get hooked up on app so you can adjust the esc easily and see what you are set at without counting beeps and flashing lights. 👍

I hope you get chance to run your buggy today and test everything out! 😎
