What started as 1 truck in Dec. 2023, has now progressed to 5, and, I just started sourcing parts for a 6TH, as a complete build.

This pic is my original Arrma Fury, my AE PRO4, and my HPI Jumpshot SC Flux.

This pic is the other HPI Jumpshot, an SC V2, and a currently being worked on Traxxas Drag Slash.

And, just to say I, sort of, have something different, my Redcat Earthquake 8e that is still a roller. I say sort of, because, for all intents and purposes, it's just a heavier SCT MT.

Short courses are fun. It's a shame that most classes in the racing world near me are mostly buggies. Want to have a tekno super badly but I don't have the money for it right now and SCT class is rarely ran at my local track.

Yea. Especially sct on carpet. Don't know why so many carpet tracks ban the use of short course trucks. Back in the day that class was huge on carpet near me and it was a ton of fun. Obviously there were rules like motor/battery/chassis protector/tires/ride height rules so it doesn't damage the carpet. That's understandable imo. But why not in today's world?

As I only bash and beat on them, I don't see the point to spending the money on a Tekno.
Fair

They are super durable. I know lots of people who just bash them and not even race/track them. They are quality cars/kits.

I had one a few years ago, but,my go-to for hard bashing the last few years has either been AE, or Traxxas. I know, a lot say Traxxas aren't great for that use, but, built right, they can take a lot of punishment.

Fair enough. Everybody's bashing extremes/levels are different. For me it's... I don't see the point of spending money on RTRs. Well, unless it's a platform being dumped by Arrma at a stupid price :p .

@Smilinbri, I think I just found my new body. I sometimes toss and turn over what to get... you made up my mind for me. Thanks!

I had an older EVO SC body on my SC10FT, and loved it.

With the Flo-Tek Fusion body incorporating two body features into one... perfect for what I'm looking for at the moment.

How does the jumpshot compare to others? I am really intrigued by the metal chassis, seems like a good design for racing?

At my track if there are 3 it's a race. SCT is making a comeback and even stadium trucks are being ran regularly, at my track

This is the post I made about it: https://www.rctalk.com/forum/threads/hpi-jumpshot-sc-flux-impression-from-first-runs.143462/
For racing, it would definitely need a few things, like getting rid of the links in favor of captured, adjustable links. I actually have two of these (and, used to have the MT), and that seems to be the weakest part of them.

I just picked up yet another SCT, for a winter use project. I'm purposely starting with an Arrma Senton boost, that, by the time I am done, will be a 4WD Fury.

I have several TRX 1/10, 2 and 4wd. I agree they are quite good, and plenty durable. However none of them come even close to the performance or durability of Tekno for me.
Generally speaking, the purchase price plus upgrades to a TRX ends up being pretty close to a Tekno, yet still not the quality of the Tekno.
Just my take.

I built out an sct410.3 for right around $500. I like the Slash but if I can have a Tekno for about the same money, well it's a done deal.

how are you building a $450 kit for $500? using leftover electronics?
