My New BL System for the slash

You expect a discussion in an hour and twenty minutes about how good it is? Good luck with that. Your first post was at 1:48 pm, and in the US, that's during 1st shift work hours, and most people work during those hours.

On topic, isn't Exceed an off-brand? Not very common here. I'd look for Novak, Tekin, or maybe Castle.

can't afford any of them brands right this moment , thats why I'm going with this system , trying to keep the missus happy and not spending too much on the slash is proving very difficult , fusion are quite a well known brand over here in the uk , plus my lhs are letting me spread the cost over 2 weeks and still letting me have the system so i can't really complain , didnt know it was classed as the lower brand in the states but it will do for the time being till i can save up for a mamba maxx pro system , just dodnt know if there was anything i need to do with a brushless sytem as some people always say you dont need to do nothing ..

The only thing you need to do with the BL system is watch the temps the first couple times you run it. You want the ESC and motor temps to stay below 200F (you'll have to convert that the Celsius). Run out a full battery, checking the temps while you run it, and adjust gearing to change temperatures. Once you get it settled in, you're good to go.

so every thing is in spent the last 2 days running it checking temps seeing which gearin i can get away with , now i have a weird problem I'm only running nimh cells at the moment untill i can get some lipos , one is 8.4 7 cell 3300 mah and the other is 8.4 7 cell 5000 mah everytime i run the big pack it keeps cutting the esc out for a couple seconds and then powers back up , but with the 3300 mah battery i have no problems wat so ever any ideas ? and will i see a noticible different wen i put a lipo in there i can only run 2.s through my esc but its a good starting point till i can afford a bigger system , thanks for your input aswell allien

Yes the Lipo difference is HUGE. The biggest thing is the amount of added torque you have. People get all wrapped up with the 2s having a lower voltage than the 8.4 Nimh ...the Lipo will walk ALL over it. It is the amount of amperage available to the motor and ESC. Example with will start your car better a 14.4 volt battery from a cordless drill or a 12v lead acid from your car? I mean that is silly the lead acid will becuase of the amount of juice in it.....just because something has higher voltage does not always equal more power.

oh right i get ya so what kind of lipo should i be lookin for then 7.2 ? and what mah ? I'm still pretty new to electric and trying to figure everything out

I run a 2s 5500 gensacearespammers and its too fast for me so I'd stay at 2s

I run 2s 4100 in my slash and the speed and torque isnt bad I did use 3s 5000 on it a couple times but my temps were to high, the performance was insane though.. I couldnt imagine a bigger system then what I am running now.. I have to buy a few 2s 5000 or 5500 so I can race at one of the tracks with it... good luck and you'll never use the reg. batts again after you use the lipo's!!!! I am trying to find some softer rubber for the pavment so I can get better handling. I use paddles sometimes in the dirt and that is insane rooster tails!!! I needed the mudflaps with those!!
