Hello. I'm just getting back to the hobby. I'm building an xray gtxe and not sure what motor and esc to get. Was looking at 1 8 scale castle and tekin but not sure what one to get. I want to go fast but not going to race. Any suggestions, Thanks.

Considering the cost, guessing you aren't looking to save $, but since you said your not racing, still might be worth checking out some hobbywing systems. Many run those in their 1/8th arrmas. Then again, their sensored aren't much cheaper than castle.

I run the MMX/2200kv sensored in my flux and it's very smooth. Worked well on 4S, but running 6S in it now. Don't have a ton of wheel time on it in 6S. Had to gear it down because it ran hot, but it's still faster than I can drive in that thing. Pretty sure HPI really had 4S in mind when they made that thing.

I'm assuming you'd want sensored for onroad. In a big heavy basher MT, it didn't really matter, but I wanted to try it. It's nice, but the MMv2/2200kv unsensored would have worked just as well and is cheaper. Lacks logging, some settings and of course, the sensored part.

Thanks for your reply. Having mostly had nitro stuff the electric motors can be a little confusing.
