Worst schedule I ever worked was 45 on, zero off... in the USAF

When we deployed to Saudi Arabia, we worked 45 days straight, 12 hour shifts, first half on days, last half on nights. Pretty restrictive culture so didn't miss a thing being at work. Landed in the early morning on your first day, drop your bags and start work, work 3 weeks of day shifts, then switch to nights. On your last night shift, bring your bag to work, when the airplane landed, once the new day crew got off, we'd get on board and go home.
That's a mad roster. Wow.
I used to work a 2/1 roster, which is 1 week days, 1 week nights and 1 off. 12 hours shifts.

During the latter part of my USAF enlistment - 1964-65, worked 3 on and 1 off. Every once in a while, on that rotation we'd get a Monday off. Not often.

Fast forward to Kobar Towers, Saudi Arabia with the Army in 1993. Working intel at the time monitoring and recording suspicious-looking surveillance activity outside the fence the hours were all screwed up as well as the days.

Nowadays retired, like 'Frog' above, spend Fridays and weekends hunkered down at home. Do all my out and about Mon-Thur.

Back in the day racing 1/8 nitro bug fight city traffic on Saturdays to make a race; lick my racing wounds, recover and assess car damage on Sunday. Monday was for getting in the big parts order for repairs and/or upgrades before next race. Back then, schedule was 1/8 nitro racing every two weeks rotating among four off-road tracks in Houston area. Good variety and good race rhythm. Always had me hitting the ground running when back at the day job on Monday.

I work hard for my money...I have no hair to show for it
I was only speaking in generalities. It doesn't apply to everyone.

That's the one major downside to my work place. 45min commute in and +70min commute home. Not horrible. I'm typically home well before 3:30.
I'll be there 21 years, next month!
I have about a 30 minute commute each way. Well right now more like 45+ because of road construction. I think 30 minutes is a pretty average commute but I miss when I lived 9 minutes away from work lol.

I've been at my current job for almost 17 years now.

While the commute is a bit of a hike, I do love coming home to my quiet, spacious suburbia after a day in the hustle bustle of the city.
