Mr.Clean just got me thinking about a situation I'm in at the track. I'm runing the stock Tiger .15x in my GT2 and 98% of the drivers at the track are running a O.S. .12. It seems to me that I have the top end to run them down on the straights but lacking as I come out of the corner. Now I know the OS 12 has a bit more HP, but is it really that much more acceleration? I just got a Associate Torque pipe but havent installed it just yet to test it out. I'm getting better at this "trouble shooting" bit, but I'm still not that great with mills yet. Thanks.

it may be gearing, suspension, etc.. if your geared high you will ahve to top to catch them, but not the grunt to do it out of the corners, if its suspension, you may not be gettin gthe traction they are.

Well my current setup is pretty much stock, except the suspension. The only mods I've done is removed the carb restricter, upgraded my tires and now added a torque pipe. I have several different oils for the shocks and a full set of front and rear springs. I'm runing Pro-Line Hole Shots (along with 90% of the other drivers) so it's not a tire issue. You think I'm a touch too firm on the rear end and getting wheel spin when i throttle up? The guys at the track are great, but I'm learning that there are some "secrets" that just dont get shared. When I have asked in the past about suspension, it's always seemed rather vague.

I'm not a racer so i can't be specific on the answers, my best advice is trial and error, go with a softer spring or thicker oil and see what happens..

sorry to be so vague.. but like i said i dont race so i can't really answer what specificaly to do..

Also, most drivers adjust their rigs to suit their driving style. Some guys can drive a stiff setup better and some guys can run a soft setup better.

If your losing in the low end, then I'd suggest dropping a tooth on the CB or upping a few teeth on the spur to gain some low end grunt. The spurs are usually cheap and you'd be able to see a difference if it isn't traction your losing.

Glad I got you thinking........... now tell the wife I said sorry but you need to spend more money on the car... :)
I'm not a racer either and with my inexperience you wouldn't want my guess at anything anyway..... although I could tell you how to crash it really good. LOL

I have raced in the past and for a general rule of thumb you want your rear a-arms level when looking at it from behind what most of us did was to drop the truck from about a foot in the air on to a flat table or surface and it rebounds the arms should be level, the front of the truck should ride just a little higher then the rear, also check your slipper clutch on the tranny and make sure that when you punch it from a dead stop that you are not just spinning the tires off the line, you want it to slip for a couple of feet so that you acelerate and just sit and spin so to say, you also want to make sure it is not to loose as that could cause you to have problems acelerating out of the corners, you just have to find that balance point, make sure your slipper pads are not worn out, hope this helps good luck at the track...

The torque pipe will help,You may also want to go down one tooth on the clutch bell. That will give you more punch & not give up too much top end. You can go to Associateds website & look up set-ups there. I would run Ryan Maifields set-up, It's "dialed"
